Hunter Valley Steamfest - 14th to 15th April 2018
From Saturday 14th to Sunday 15th April 2018, the annual Hunter Valley Steamfest was held up in the Hunter Valley Town of Maitland, NSW. NSW Rail Museum Steam Locomotives DC6029 and C3642 attended the event, along with Diesel Locomotives 4201, 4001 and 4490. Also, Railmotors 621/721 and CPH 1/3/7 attended this year's Steamfest.
On the Saturday, DC6029 and 4201 hauled Shuttle Trips from Maitland to Branxton, while 3642 & 4490 hauled Trips to Paterson and hauled a Port Waratah Coal Run Tour. 621/721 ran trips out to Mount Thorley, while CPH 1/3/7 hauled Shuttles to Paterson. We got to film the Heritage Trains at different locations along the Hunter Valley Railway Line.
On Sunday, 3642 and DC6029 took part in the Great Train Race. After that, 6029 and 4201 resumed with Shuttle Trips to Branxton. 6029 unfortunately broke down, so 4001 took over with 4201 for the last Shutte Trip. 3642 and 4490 hauled more Shuttles to Paterson, and ran another Port Waratah Coal Run. The Railmotors resumed their Shuttles to Mount Thorley and Paterson.
