As of the 2010 United States Census, the city's population was 9,450, reflecting a decline of 3,144 from the 12,594 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,240 from the 11,354 counted in the 1990 Census.What is now the City of Brigantine has passed through a series of names and re-incorporations since it was first created.
