Most beautiful places to see in Norway - Briksdal Glacier, Olden, Fjords | Samyana Stories
In this video, you can see the scintillating beauty of Olden, enchanting view of Briksdal Glacier, spectacular fjords near Olden and majestic Lyse Fjord. We shot this video on our recent cruise trip from Southampton, UK by P&O Cruises - Brittania (Britan's biggest cruise ship) to Norway. The fantastic view we got from the cruise ship while leaving Olden through the fjords is unforgettable and is a once in lifetime experience. Trying the pristine water directly coming from the glacier is one of the most memorable things we have done on this trip. Please note that although Pulpit's rock is mentioned in this video, we were unable to get its footage. Also please note that the trek from Pulpit's rock bus departures to the top would take a minimum of 2 hours.

Briksdalsbreen is one of the most accessible and best known arms of the Jostedalsbreen glacier. Briksdalsbreen is located in the municipality of Stryn in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The glacier lies on the north side of the Jostedalsbreen, in Briksdalen (the Briks valley) which is located at the end of the Oldedalen valley, about 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of the village of Olden. It is located inside Jostedalsbreen National Park. Briksdalsbreen terminates in a small glacial lake, Briksdalsbrevatnet, which lies 346 metres (1,135 ft) above sea level.

Loen is a small village situated innermost in Nordfjord, below the great Jostedalsbreen Glacier. This is the home of Loen Skylift, and the perfect place for exploring the mountains during the day, and pampering yourself in the evenings.Briksdalsbreen is the most famous arm of the great Jostedalsbreen Glacier, and located 30 km from Loen, inside the Jostedalsbreen National Park. From 1200 meters, the glacier plunges down into the beautiful Briksdalen Valley. See the valley by foot or catch a ride with one of the Troll cars up to the glacier.Loen is also the home of Mt. Skåla.

En seulement 12 ans, le glacier Briksdalsbreen en Norvège à perdu 30% de sa longueur.
Nombreuses sont les photos de 2006 où le glacier et le lac ne faisaient qu'un. Aujourd'hui en 2018, le glacier arrive à peine à mi-hauteur de la falaise rocheuse.
Réchauffement climatique ? Accentuation des précipitations ? Même les spécialistes ne sont pas tous d'accord à ce sujet.
Mais ce qui ne trompe pas sont les signes que nous voyons tout autour du globe: catastrophe écologique, fonte des glaces en antarctique, dérèglement climatique… Le glacier Briksdalsbreen n'en est qu'un autre… malheureusement...
