Part 5 of my Sydney travel. Today we're going to Cabramatta in New South Wales, Australia. It is the largest Vietnamese, Chinese community in Australia.
Cabramatta feels like you're in Asia. The shops look like in Asian countries where they have an abundant amount of businesses next to each other in small spaces from bubble tea to grocery and vietnamese/chinese restaurants.
You can eat very good Yam Cha (Dim sum) at Vinh Phat Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Cabramatta (2nd floor).
The best part is super fresh sugar cane juice for $2.5 AUD ($1.80 USD).
It's very lively there and it's the best place to go grocery shopping or eating with friends and family.

Today We're heading to CBD (Downtown) Sydney Australia to visit a couple of beautiful places. Our next stop is the biggest church in Sydney CBD Australia. St Mary's Cathedral was built in 1851 and it is beautiful place to visit. You will see a lot of tourists here because it's a free attraction worth seeing and take a lot of pictures.
You will love the architecture. It's also open to visit the inside of the cathedral. It's beautiful with the colored glass windows.
There will be a lot of wedding pictures taken outside of the cathedral.
Sydney is just lively and nice overall with the warm and sunny weather.

Sydney - Things To Do - Cabramatta
Sydney is a big city and it has a Chinatown. Did you know that it also has a Vietnamtown? Yes we also have a Vietnamtown. We call it Cabramatta.
Cabramatta is one of the best places to visit when in Sydney. Majority of people that visit, work and live here are Vietnamese.
There's a bit of bad history in Cabramatta. It used to be the drug capital of Sydney. Violence, drugs, robberies, shootings, you name it. No one used to want to come here. It was deemed a ghetto. There were drug pushers, users, gangs and homeless people. It really was a scary place.
A Big clean up more than decade ago has really made Cabramatta the way it is now. Which is a foodie heaven as well as a place for bargain shopping. Shop from clothes, shoes, mobiles to butchers and green grocers. There are cafes, hairdressers, and of course food!
Today, Cabramatta is one of the safest city in Sydney. A bustling city filled with people from different ethnicity. Due to its growing popularity, it has become a stressful place to visit. Mainly because of car park, lack thereof. It is advisable to come in early, this will save you fighting for car park.
The new car park that was finally built, has really help in this regard, which now offers more parking. It took a year to get built and now it is a great red center point of Cabramatta. Plenty of additional car spaces has been added due to this new building. Eight hundred and eighty of car spaces in fact.
There are some things to do in Cabramatta. There is a library, a park, PCYC club with a little gym and an indoor basketball court. Don't come here for them though, come here for some serious food. If you are craving for traditional Vietnamese and want to grab some bargains, come to Cabramatta. You will love this Vietnamtown in Sydney.

This Episode Features:
Pho Tau Bay
This restaurant first opened in 1980 as Cabramatta's first Pho restaurant and still going strong, they are famous for their Pho Bo or Pho Beef Combination. This is John’s favourite place to eat Pho in Cabramatta
Pho Quoc Restaurant
Just next door from Pho Tau Bay is this shop and interestingly I’ve always eaten Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls premade, but today we have one of the best experience a DIY – do it yourself Vietnamese Rice Paper Roll experience with all the toppings otherwise known as Banh Hoi Dac Biet.
Tan Viet Noodle House
We absolutely love this place for its crispy chicken with egg noodle (mi ga da don) its an absolute treat – with garlic oil for the noodle, tender and succulent juicy chicken meat and the as the name says it’s the skin is extra crispy that almost instantly gives it the biggest crunchy texture.
