Cagayan is a province of the Philippines in the Cagayan Valley region in the northeast of Luzon Island, and includes the Babuyan Islands to the north. The province borders Ilocos Norte and Apayao to the west, and Kalinga and Isabela to the south. Its capital is Tuguegarao.

We started 2017 traveling this jaw-dropping place in the northern tip of Luzon Island. It may be also linked to Batanes because of its beautiful landscapes and a breath-taking scenery of the sea.

An Epic Road Trip to Calayan and Camiguin in the Babuyan Islands
Last April, we brought 16 strangers from Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines to a 10-day Super Mega Awesome Random Road Trip to EXPERIENCE one of the least visited places in the Philippines - Camiguin, and Calayan of the BabuyanIslands.
When you let go of expectations, you are awarded with dolphins, pilot whales, a family of humpback whales, pristine white sand beaches, red full moon, the milk way, hidden waterfalls, yacht rides, warm homestays, delicious food, caring locals, endless laughter, and most of all, new friends.
It is true when they say, Magic happens outside your comfort zone.

Best Beach in The Philippines? Camiguin Island Adventures
My favorite beach in The Philippines thus far is White Island off the coast of Camiguin Island. I ended up changing travel plans to add Camiguin Island into my schedule in between Bohol and Siargao - and I’m so happy I did!
Some of my favorite things to do on Camiguin Island included; Tuasan Falls, the Giant Clam Sanctuary, Old Spanish Church Ruins, White Island, Katunggan Mangrove Park, Ardent hot springs, and Mantigue Island.

The Enchanted River - Mystical Clear Blue Waters
The Hinatuan River in Mindanao, Philippines, is a deep spring river on the island of Mindanao.
About 30 minutes from the town of Hinatuan in Barangay Cambatong lays the Hinatuan River which has become one of the most popular tourist attraction sites in Philippines.
The surface of the water is typically calm & peacefull, and this combined with the impressive clarity of the bright blue water, gives this place an unreal, magical quality.
The river has such crystal-clear waters, that you can see the riverbed even at the deepest part.
Hinatuan River earned it’s moniker Enchanted River” after being described in a poem written by the diplomat Modesto Farolan.

Calayan Island are one of the Babuyan Islands in the Luzon Strait north of Luzon island. It would take approximately 14 hours bus ride from Manila to Aparri and another 6 hours boat ride to Calayan. This Island can offer you its Unspoiled Beach, Breath Taking Rock formations, Plains and Fields, Alluring Water Falls and Countless Caves. The best time of the year to come in here is from April to May.
