**This is a promotional video.**
Gurney Manor Mill, B&B and self catering holiday accommodation in Cannington, Somerset, is owned and run by Pauline and Bill Sutton. They have owned this former Mill and farm buildings since 1993. Formerly part of the nearby Gurney Manor Estate, which is now owned by The Landmark Trust. For the first four years the major renovation work was undertaken to convert the buildings into a superior quality establishment it is these days.
The Mill is powered by water from the Mill Stream which is diverted from Cannington Brook and is still in working order today. There is evidence of the Mill being here since the 1200's, and it still has it's original shaft from the 1600's. It was restored in 1842 by Alfred Day and Sons of Mark in Somerset. The Old Cart House close by provides self catering accommodation for longer stays. In the grounds is the remains of The Old Millers Cottage, in the 1800's was the home of the village Postmistress. It was still habited into the 1950's and then was condemned as it had no running water !
Pauline and Bill have turned these old buildings into a first class Bed and Breakfast , and it is a credit to them for all their hard work to make it what it is today. They have tastefully decorated the inside with beautiful furniture and fittings, also the amazing gardens are really special too, and it is the result of their vision that has made it what it is in 2014. They have been customers of mine now for over 7 Years ,( I am their Postman ) and this is the first time i have ever seen the whole place. Apparently Bill makes a superb cooked breakfast, which many people have enjoyed over the Years.
If you fancy a break for a few nights or longer, i would say that Gurney Manor Mill would be the ideal place to stay in the peace and tranquility of the Somerset countryside, and you would be ensured of a very warm welcome.!!

The Cannington Bypass extension, Somerset. Wed 6th January 2016.
**Watch in full screen 1080 HD.
The new Cannington Bypass extension opened on Thursday 17th December 2015. The Extension designed to completely avoid the village was paid for by EDF Energy amongst several other projects in the area...like Washford Roundabout near Watchet, and will take away all the Heavy Construction Traffic of the future Hinkley Point 'C' Reactor. The Road links the A39 at the Cannington West Roundabout to the C182 Hinkley Road at The Cannington North Roundabout. The Road slices through several notable local places, Brymore School, Withiel Farm and Drive, Sandy Lane and latter parts of Chads Hill which lead to Castle Hill Quarry. These are some of my customers and where Withiel Drive ends i have a little detour to the new Road for access...
The Road is One Mile long and really smooth... quite an enjoyable drive. Hopefully the Road will fulfill it's purpose long term and keep Heavy Traffic away from our Village.
**This video is a remake of one i filmed on Saturday 19th December 2015...I didn't release it as the Weather was so dour !!

Monsal Dale & Railway Viaduct
Looking out from Monsal head across the valley of the river Wye in Derbyshire. The old viaduct once carried the Midland Railway company's route between London, Manchester and also Buxton for well over one hundred years during the steam era. This viaduct now forms an important vista along the newly opened Monsal Dale Trail between Wye Dale in the west and Bakewell in the south east. The trail is popular with both walkers and cyclists.
