A historic, Victorian-era Scottish Baronial mansion. The bonanza castle was designated a National Historic Site of Canada due to its landmark status in Victoria. The Museum consists of a display area spread over two hangars, a classroom, a restoration workshop and a gift shop. Displays include historical civilian and military artefacts including uniforms, medals and models. Located in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada. It is on the grounds of the Victoria International Airport.
09. Thunderbird Park

Ramsgate is a seaside town in the district of Thanet in east Kent, England. Ramsgate was one of the great English seaside towns of the 19th century. Ramsgate’s main attraction is its coastline, and its main industries are tourism and fishing. The town has one of the largest marinas on the English south coast, and the Port of Ramsgate has provided cross-channel ferries for many years.
Ramsgate is located 78 miles from central London in an east south-easterly direction at one of the most easterly points of the United Kingdom (the furthest point east is Lowestoft in Suffolk). The town is an amalgamation of two settlements: a fishing community on the coast in the shallow valley between two chalk cliffs, and an inland farming community that is now the Parish of St Lawrence. The cliffs are known as the East Cliff and the West Cliff and are predominantly residential areas.
Ramsgate's main attraction is its coastline, particularly Ramsgate Main Sands, which was awarded a Blue Flag in 2015. Ramsgate's wartime deep shelter tunnels are open to the public for tours, which have been running since 2014. The local council publishes a website specifically aimed at tourists visiting Ramsgate and neighbouring towns. There is an annual regatta event based at Ramsgate during the summer. Ramsgate has developed a continental café style culture with bars and restaurants on its seafront parade. Ramsgate carnival is an annual parade that takes place during the summer.
The Port of Ramsgate has a 700 berth marina, Royal Harbour Marina, and a ferry terminal built on reclaimed land. Ramsgate is connected to the national road network primarily through the A299 Thanet Way, which continues on to the M2/A2 for the M25 (approx 1 hour) and London. Ramsgate railway station is situated at the top of the town near the parish of St Lawrence.

King's Lynn, known until 1537 as Bishop's Lynn, is a seaport and market town in Norfolk, England, about 97 miles north of London and 44 miles west of Norwich.
King's Lynn has two theatres, museums and other cultural and sporting venues. There are three secondary schools and one college. The service sector, information and communication technologies and creative industries, provide employment for the population of King's Lynn and the surrounding area.
King's Lynn is the northernmost settlement on the River Great Ouse, situated 97 miles (156 km) north of London and 44 miles (71 km) west of Norwich. The town of King's Lynn lies about 5 miles (8 km) south of the Wash, a fourfold estuary subject to dangerous tides and shifting sandbanks, on the north-west margin of East Anglia. King's Lynn has an area of 11 square miles (28 km2).
Tourism in King's Lynn is a minor industry but still attracts many visitors to its historic centre. The town acts as a base for visiting the Queen's home at Sandringham and other great country houses in the area. Within the town and stretching across the nearby Fenland are some of the finest historic churches in Britain, built at a time when King's Lynn and its hinterland were very wealthy from trade and wool. King's Lynn railway station is the only rail line providing rail transportation to King's Lynn, and is the terminus of the Fen Line.

Clayshire Castle - Medieval Bed & Breakfast + Medieval Faire In Bowling Green Indiana
In the middle of the Indiana countryside lies a true hidden gem known as Clayshire Castle. Clayshire Castle is a medieval-themed, five room bed and breakfast, that is the final realization of a long-held dream of Doug and Mary Jo Smock (Lord Douglas & Lady Josephine). The 10,000 sq. ft., four-tower, Clayshire Castle is set on a beautiful 120 acre plot of land where they also host an annual Medieval Faire that is growing every year. We found it totally by accident, but it is probably the best accidental travel experience we've ever had! The Clayshire Castle is beautiful, and you feel a part of another time when you walk through the doors. Years of planning by Doug, Mary Jo, and their daughter have resulted in an amazing bed and breakfast with five uniquely themed rooms: The Tournament Room, The Enchanted Forest Room, The Fairy Tale Room, The Tapestry Room, and The Wine Cellar Room. The Tournament Room is wheelchair accessible. Long story short, we thought Clayshire Castle was incredible and would highly recommend you going to see it, or booking a stay so you can enjoy it even more. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a tidal island off the northeast coast of England. It is also known just as Holy Island. It constitutes the civil parish of Holy Island in Northumberland. Holy Island has a recorded history from the 6th century AD.
It was an important centre of Celtic Christianity under Saints Aidan of Lindisfarne, Cuthbert, Eadfrith of Lindisfarne and Eadberht of Lindisfarne. After the Viking invasions and the Norman conquest of England, a priory was reestablished. A small castle was built on the island in 1550.
The island measures 3 miles (4.8 km) from east to west and 1 1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) from north to south, and comprises approximately 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) at high tide. The nearest point of the island is about 1 mile (1.6 km) from the mainland of England. The island of Lindisfarne is located along the northeast coast of England, close to the border with Scotland. It is accessible, most times, at low tide by crossing sand and mudflats which are covered with water at high tides. These sand and mud flats carry an ancient pilgrims' path, and in more recent times, a modern causeway. Lindisfarne is surrounded by the 8,750-acre (3,540 ha) Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, which protects the island's sand dunes and the adjacent intertidal habitats.
Trinity House operates two lighthouses to guide vessels entering Holy Island Harbour, named Guile Point East and Heugh Hill. The former is one of a pair of stone obelisks standing on a small tidal island on the other side of the channel. The obelisks are leading marks which, when aligned, indicate the safe channel over the bar. When Heugh Hill bears 310° (in line with the church belfry) the bar is cleared and there is a clear run into the harbour. Since the early 1990s, a sector light has been fixed to it about one-third of the way up Guile Point East. The latter is a metal framework tower with a black triangular day mark, situated on a ridge on the south edge of Lindisfarne. Before November 1995 both were owned/operated by Newcastle-upon-Tyne Trinity House.
The monastery of Lindisfarne was founded by Irish monk Saint Aidan, who had been sent from Iona off the west coast of Scotland to Northumbria at the request of King Oswald. The priory was founded before the end of 634 and Aidan remained there until his death in 651.
Lindisfarne also has the small Lindisfarne Castle, based on a Tudor fort, which was refurbished in the Arts and Crafts style by Sir Edwin Lutyens for the editor of Country Life, Edward Hudson. Lutyens also designed the island's Celtic-cross war-memorial on the Heugh. Lutyens' upturned herring buses near the foreshore provided the inspiration for Spanish architect Enric Miralles' Scottish Parliament Building in Edinburgh.
Tourism grew steadily throughout the 20th century, and the isle of Lindisfarne is now a popular destination for visitors to the area. Those tourists staying on the island while it is cut off by the tide experience the island in a much quieter state, as most day trippers leave before the tide rises. At low tide it is possible to walk across the sands following an ancient route known as Pilgrims' Way

Antrim Castle Gardens - County Antrim, Northern Ireland
Antrim Castle Gardens which is also referred to as Antrim Castle Gardens and Clotworthy House is considered a historic gem which people will never find anywhere else in Northern Ireland; it is the place that was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund in order to become in the same measure of beauty which we see today.
As much as this location is considered a beautiful green space that one could stroll down to enjoy, it is also considered a historic place which tourists come to visit in order to check the Clotworthy House that is found inside - and which is the reason behind referring to it in the name of the whole place - and at the same time get the chance to visit the Garden Heritage Exhibition in order to know more about the story of Massereene Family.
Antrim Castle, which is located in the same place where the gardens are situated, was also referred to and known as Massereene Castle. The Massereene Castle passed through lots of stages in its development; it was erected in stages between 1613 and 1662, it was destroyed by fire in 1922, and it was finally demolished in the 1970's. In addition to the castle, there was an Italian tower built there in 1887 and a gatehouse which was built in 1818 with twin neo-Tudor towers, with older connecting walls.
People in county Antrim - and in Northern Ireland in general - consider Antrim Castle Gardens a living museum that carries over four centuries of culture and heritage. In these 60-acre gardens, there are some features which you will need to check and which include visiting the Large Parterre, Her Ladyship's Pleasure Garden and Yew Tree Pond. Along the walk in this garden, you will at some point come across the sculpture which is named The Massereene Wolfhound which is considered part of the history of this family that played a great role in bringing this garden to life and giving it the chance to become a historical place until this day.
In order to bring back lots of the things and features which used to make this garden different and take it back to its 17th-century reality, there were lots of things done and a lot of hard work exerted in the major programme that was dedicated to it by the Heritage Lottery Fund that was considered the biggest garden restoration project to be seen in Northern Ireland.
As much as the whole place is mainly about the old restored garden, you will also get the chance to see those new and ornamental gardens during your visit. It is easy to reach this garden and there you will find heritage, you will find education and interpretation, as well as community arts' facilities which you will find them scattered all around Clotworthy House that is part of Antrim Castle Gardens.
There are different events that sometimes take its place in this place and one of these examples is the Christmas event which we even got the chance to attend - it was beautifully different for us as adults as well as for the kids for the different games and other sweets which it managed to serve them ( - we definitely recommend this place for those who are trying to visit a place in county Antrim which will mix between heritage and history as well as the new features and informative things which are all found there.
County Antrim, which is one of the six counties that are found in Northern Ireland, carries several destinations and touristic attractions that people could go to and visit. From the long list that is found out there, we would recommend Bushmills Distillery which is located in Bushmills that is in county Antrim ( Another option is the famous Dark Hedges which is located in Ballymoney in county Antrim as well and which became even more famous after it appeared in the famous Game of Thrones movie series ( Carrickfergus is one destination in county Antrim which we have been to before and which we would recommend as well ( and we would also recommend Carnfunnock Park which is one of the things that we believe should be done in county Antrim - especially if you have kids and want them to enjoy the time along with you - (
There are actually lots of things and places in county Antrim and the suggestions always depend on the place you are residing in and how far you will be from all these different places; always search our channel according to your location and you will definitely find lots of places on it which you could visit and lots of things which you could actually do when it comes to Northern Ireland.
