Cavtat Croatia - Old Town and Beaches
Cavtat Croatia - Old Town and Beaches
Cavtat is a charming little town located less than 20 km south of Dubrovnik. The Cavtat area is most attractive because of the Mediterranean vegetation which covers the whole area. With its rich and interesting historical heritage, beautiful scenery and a wide range of tourist services, Cavtat is definitely among the most desirable tourist destinations of the region.
Originally it was a Greek settlement called Epidauros. Around 228 BC it was under the Romans and later became a Roman colony. Cavtat became part of the Republic of Ragusa in the 15th century.
The attractions of Cavtat is the Rector's Palace, the Baroque church of St. Nikola, the Franciscan monastery, Bogišić's scientific collection, the Vlaho Bukovac Art Gallery, the Račić Mausoleum, archaeological sites, city walls, the Šipun cave etc.
Numerous beautiful beaches are the main reason that Cavtat is a desirable summer destination for most visitors. Crystal clear and unpolluted sea depths offer perfect refreshment in the hot summer days.
Cavtat also offers a 7 km promenade by pine forests paths only a few meters from the sea.
Numerous bars and restaurants line the waterfront, offering everything from cheap pizza and simple pasta to more expensive local specialties and succulent fresh fish.
Cavtat is very well connected with major Croatian cities through Dubrovnik and Cilipi Airport, while local communications with the surroundings include ship and bus lines.
Although Cavtat is a small town, but it has a lot to offer....

5 Top-Rated Day Trips from Dubrovnik | Croatia Day Tours Guide
5 Top-Rated Day Trips from Dubrovnik, Europe
Blessed with a stunning location on the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik is surrounded by rewarding day trip destinations. Just offshore, wooded islands punctuate the clear waters, with sleepy villages; calm, pebbly beaches; and time-worn monasteries and churches. Sailing trips are a popular way to explore these beautiful islands. Along the coast, red-roofed villas cascade down hillsides in picturesque towns such as Cavtat, and foodies will love the Peljesac Peninsula, with its patchwork of farms and succulent shellfish and oysters. Be sure to bring your passport; Dubrovnik is just a short drive away from the diminutive country of Montenegro, where you can soak up the hypnotic beauty of its tiny villages and hike amid pine-covered mountain peaks. And for history and culture vultures, Mostar in Bosnia Herzegovina outshines its battle-scarred past with its welcoming locals and picturesque old town on the banks of the Neretva River. Here five day trips from Dubrovnik, Croatia.

2. Cavtat
3. Montenegro

Summer vacation vlog | CAVTAT, CROATIA
This summer we spent a week Cavtat, Croatia. Cavtat is a beautiful and charming little town south of Dubrovnik, just five minutes from the airport. Here you can enjoy beautiful scenery, historical buildings, amazingly clear water and lovely restaurants.
We spent most of our time chillaxing at the wonderful beaches, and also taking advantage of all the water sports activities they had to offer - paddle boat and parasailing.
The evenings in Cavtat are lovely with a relaxed atmosphere and amazing sunsets.

Exploring Tiny but Beautiful Cavtat, Croatia
Cavtat is a perfect base to both explore Dubrovnik, a short boat or bus ride away, and just enjoy this small town that was once a resort area for wealthy Europeans.
Cavtat sits on the saddle of a wooded peninsula set between two bays. A wide promenade along the harbor is lined with restaurants and bars on one side. While the other side has an easy and shaded footpath through pine trees, wildflowers next to water so clear, black sea urchins are clearly visible.
How gorgeous is Cavtat? T-h-i-s...gorgeous...
