5 Most Fascinating Mayan Ruins in Belize
The Maya were a powerful civilization that originated in the Yucatan around 2600 BC and came to full power around AD 250. They lived in an area that stretched from Central Mexico to El Salvador and included Belize. Some believe that the region may have been home to more than 2 million Mayas during the peak of their dynasty. The ancient Maya were known for their advanced knowledge of astronomy and for constructing large cities containing pyramids and other structures.

Travel Guatemala || Tikal, Going Back In Time
Oh, Tikal. How I loved you and how I hated you. This part of Guatemala was quite the adventure for us. From a failed sunrise tour, to EPIC sunset shots, to a sketchy awful tour guide who tried to screw us, to the heat, the elation, the wonder and awe...it was literally everything wrapped in 14 hours. I was insanely tired but also insanely excited. We got some amazing footage, but it was a huge challenge to get it (carrying all that equipment! AHHH!). All in all, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat, but I would do things a little differently. I'll lay it all out for you guys so you can learn from my mistakes, and the things we did right! -Nathalie
(All videos filmed, edited, narrated and produced by yours truly)
Where we stayed:
Posada Del Cerro in El Remate - HIGHLY recommend
What we booked:
Tikal sunrise tour AND sunset tour through Posada Del Cerro, who works with San Juan Travel. Beware a tour guide named Ruben! He tried to screw us over. I don't recommend the sunrise tour - see video. The sunset tour is much, much better.
