Welcome to Chiangmuan
I was a barman in my hometown, late nights drunk people and never getting enough sleep. I dreamed of the life of adventure and took the leap when I decided to move to Thailand and give my hand at teaching as well as fulfil my burning passion to travel.
I now currently live in Chiang Muan, within the district of Phayao, Thailand. I teach young ones all day from 7:30 to 4:30, have made new friends taken some amazing photos and after the most incredible ride around the town on the scooter I am renting I decided it was time to show all my loved ones back home what life is like in this small rural town up in the Northern mountain ranges and forests of Thailand.

The northern most province of Thailand, Chiang Rai is situated on the Kok River basin 416 metres above sea level. With an area of some 11,678 square kilometres. It is about 785 kilometres form Bangkok. Mostly mountainous, it reaches the Mae Khong River to the north and borders on both Myanmar and Laos.
The province is rich in tourism resources in term of natural attractions and antiquities, evidence of its past civilisation. It is also home to serveral hilltribes who follow fascinating ways of life. Chiang Rai is also a tourism gateway into Myanmar an Laos.
Chiang Rai is administratively divided into the following districts: Muang, Phan, Thoeng, Mae Chan, Mae Sai, Wiang Pa Pao, Chiand Khong, Chiang Saen. Pa Daet, Wiang Chai, Phaya Mengrai, Wiang Kaen, Mae Fa Luang, Khun Tan, Mae Lao, Wiang chiang Rung and Doi Luang.

This is before the decent into Ban Luang. After Ban Luang there is another long climb. As I shot this video I was questioning my selection of routes for this trip as I chose to hit the mountains everyday. As it turns out this was one of the most grueling days of the trip. I should have known as Nan Province tops them all. Mae Hong Son included.
