Colfax is a city in Placer County, California, at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and State Route 174. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,963 at the 2010 census. The town is named in honor of U.S. Vice President Schuyler Colfax , a bronze statue of whom stands at Railroad Street and Grass Valley Street. . Some of the town's notable features include the newly restored Southern Pacific Railroad colonnade-style depot built in 1905, the downtown shops on Main Street, and Colfax High School, which serves a large surrounding area.

1. Palouse Falls State Park Washtucna
The Palouse Falls lies on the Palouse River, about 4 mi upstream of the confluence with the Snake River in southeast Washington, United States. The falls are 198 ft in height. The falls consists of an upper falls with a drop around 20 ft , which lies 1,000 ft north-northwest of the main drop, and a lower falls, with a drop of 198 ft .

The Coachella Valley is a desert valley in Southern California which extends for approximately 45 mi in Riverside County southeast from the San Bernardino Mountains to the northern shore of the Salton Sea. It is the northernmost extent of the vast trough which includes the Salton Sea, the Imperial Valley and the Gulf of California. It is approximately 15 mi wide along most of its length, bounded on the west by the San Jacinto Mountains and the Santa Rosa Mountains and on the north and east by the Little San Bernardino Mountains. The San Andreas Fault crosses the valley from the Chocolate Mountains in the southeast corner and along the centerline of the Little San Bernardinos. Hells Gate State Park is a public recreation area located on the southern edge of Lewiston, Idaho, at the Snake River's downstream entrance to Hells Canyon, the deepest canyon in North America. The state park was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to mitigate the construction of the Lower Granite Dam; the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation began leasing the site in 1973. The park's 960 acres offer trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding as well as opportunities for camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, swimming, and taking jet boat trips into the canyon. The park sits at the lowest elevation of any Idaho state park, at 733 feet above sea level.

Steptoe Butte and Kamiak Butte comprise Steptoe and Kamiak Buttes National Natural Landmark.

Here is a historical, one of a kind find located in the heart of Terre Haute which was originally a Vaudeville Theater. Built in 1915, this theater originally had 1700 seats and opened in 1916 as the Hippodrome Theater. Many big names in show business performed here such as Lucille Ball, Will Rogers, Bob Hope, George Burns and Gracie Allen. In 1935, the building was converted to movies but with limited success. In 1956, The Valley of Terre Haute purchased the property and the Scottish Rite used if for presentations till present day. There are several elaborate “drops” which can change the stage scene from a wooded camp site to a lodge room, to a Cathedral as well as several different backdrops. The acoustics were fantastic and the building designer, John Eberson was ahead of his time. Become a part of the rich, Terre Haute history by purchasing, preserving and making this building a useful part of Terre Haute again.
