These are my top 5 places to go in Fuerteventura Canary Islands. You should never be stuck wondering what to see if you are coming for a holiday in Fuerteventura. Hopefully this will help answer your question What is Fuerteventura like?
1. Cofete
Right down in the south of Fuerteventura. There some absolutely spectacular views on the way to Cofete. Once there the beach is lovely and there is a nice little cafe/restaurant for a drink and some food. Villa Winter is also located there. It was used for the parting of the Red Sea rather than the Dead Sea as I say in the video! Thank you for pointing that out Ruthjaah (although I can't reply to your comment for some reason).
2. El Cotillo
El Cotillo is the nicest fishing village on the island (in my opinion) and is a great place to visit and to stay. The beaches are wonderful and varied. There are some great restaurants too. Don't forget to visit the Toston Tower and the lighthouse. More information -
3. Betancuria
This is, by far, the prettiest village on the island. It was once the capital of Fuerteventura and is now a quite little tourist destination, nestling amongst the mountains in the middle of the island.
4. Lobos Island Fuerteventura
This a great day trip from Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura. You can get there on the glass bottom boat or Lobos ferry, or, as we did take a catamaran sail there. Great for walking, swimming and sightseeing.
5. Jandia/Sotavento Beach
This beach has lovely yellow/white sand, clear blue water and goes on for about 25 kms. There are lots of roads leading off of the main road to Morro Jable which access the beach. It is used by clothed, topless and naturist sun worshippers throughout its length. You could combine it with a visit to Cofete.

A walk around Corralejo showing the harbour area, the waterfront and the main street to give you an idea of what is Corralejo like if you are considering holidaying in Fuerteventura. Personally I think it is the best large resort in Fuerteventura.
There are many bars and restaurants along the waterfront in Corralejo and plenty of shopping in the main street.
There are some good music bars in Corralejo too. Rock Island is one of my favourites - There is also the Piano Bar (El Piano de Cola), Rock Cafe and some others. The Irish bars also have live music.
There are a few of the Corralejo beaches shown in the video although it doesn't show the best beaches which are Flag Beach and the beautiful Dunes beaches. These will feature in a future video.
Personally I think Corralejo is the best of the larger tourists resorts on the island. The others are purely tourist towns with no life outside tourism. Corralejo existed before tourism arrived. Corralejo harbour is a working place where you can catch a ferry to Lanzarote.
I hope this Corralejo guide video gives you an insight into what to do in Corralejo. I think as far as large resorts go, Corralejo is the best resort on Fuerteventura.
