Hike Pen y Fan Full Horseshoe Ridge Walk
This incredible hike up Pen y Fan in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park is one of my favourite things to do in Wales. Watch this full video guide around the horseshoe ridge and around the reservoir for stunning views, rare wildlife and to explore one of Great Britain’s best national parks and nature reserves.
This walk takes you all the way from Pont ar Daf car park and up to the Pen y Fan summit.

The Black Mountains Horseshoe walk, Brecon Beacons National Park, South Wales.
One of the lesser visited mountain areas of wales, The Black Mountains, offers some great hiking. We took on the horseshoe walk around Cwm Banw after a cold snap and the hills were in full winter conditions with temperatures as low as -7. The peaks on this walk are, Pen Twyn Glas, Pen Allt-mawr, Pen Gloch-y-pilbwr and Table Mountain.
Brecon Beacons Four Peaks (-1) Walk
From a weekend in Wales back in May 2015, this was how we spent our first afternoon/evening, climbing the highest peaks in Wales and the southern half of the United Kingdom (except for Pen-Y-Fan, as it was 21.00 by the time we finished).

A beautiful oasis in the Brecon Beacons National Park
A lovely story of a shared vision between husband and wife and the magical oasis they created, in the Black Mountains within the Brecon Beacons National Park. To stay there in Sylvie's Shepherds Hut and Maggie's Barn, just go to our website: breconcottages.com.
A WILD RIDE through a MONSOON STORM!
What was suppose to be a peaceful drive to our next campground turned out to be a super exciting look at how intense monsoon storms can get. From white out rain conditions, deafening hail, lightning striking so close and flash flooding, it was a crazy drive my daughter and I will remember forever!

Brecon Beacons Club Site
Redeveloped in 2014, this site is situated near the foothills of the Brecon Beacons, just a mile from Brecon itself, and boasts tremendous views of peaks such as Pen-y-Fan, Cribyn and Corn Du. Motorhomer, Clayton Hier, tells us why he thinks this is such a great location.
