[TRIPofJHL] Trip to Ondal Tourist Site in Danyang
Ondal Tourist Site is a medieval tourist site built along Ondal Cave and Ondal Fortress in Yeongchun-myeon, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.
- With its popularity, there are a lot of souvenir shops and local product shops before the entrance.
- The open air studio reenacts the fortress and the village. Thus, it has been used for multiple TV series.
- None of these aren't really old. But, this highly crafty studio is good enough to collect tourists.
- Inside buildings, drama props are still being exhibited like a museum.
- Each flag has a three legged crow on it. In ancient East Asia, a three legged crow is an imaginary bird that is considered to be living in the sun. Commonly seen in murals of Goguryeo Dynasty.
- Ondal is the name of a general in Goguryeo Dynasty. Famous for elevating his position after marrying a princess.
- Ondal Exhibition Hall consists of complex of multiple small buildings.
- Ondal Festival with various events is being held in October.
- Ondal Fortress is the stone-made fortress on the mountain of 427m from the sea level. It is said this was built during Goguryeo Dynasty in 6th century. Very simple and plain. But, it is well-maintained from the original structure.
Ondal Cave which is approx. 450 million years old is also popular place in the site.

[TRIPofJHL] 단양 온달관광지 여행…
충북 단양군 영춘면에 소재한 온달관광지. 중세의 모습을 구현한 관광지로 온달동굴, 온달산성과 함께 있다.
- 관광객들에게 인기있는 이곳은 입구부근부터 수많은 기념품점과 토산품점, 식당들이 즐비하다.
- 야외촬영세트장은 성곽과 마을을 구현해 놓았으며 이로인해 여러 드라마의 촬영장소로 사용되었다.
- 성벽에는 드라마 신의, 연개소문, 천추태후, 태왕사신기, 화랑, 육룡이 나르샤, 바람의 나라, 정도전 등을 촬영하였다고 크게 포스터가 붙어있다.
- 야외세트장에서 실제로 오래된 건축물은 없지만 관광객들의 관심을 불어일으키기에는 부족함이 없다.
- 건물 안에는 드라마 소품들이 박물관처럼 전시되어 있다.
- 관광지 내에 있는 깃발들에는 삼족오가 그려져 있는데, 동아시아의 환상종으로 전해내려오는 삼족오는 예로부터 태양에 산다고 알려져 왔다. 고구려의 벽화 등에 흔히 묘사되어 있다고 한다.
- '온달'이라는 명칭은 삼국시대 고구려의 장수인 온달장군으로부터 왔다. 미천한 신분에서 평강공주와 결혼하여 장군으로까지 신분상승한 온달설화로 유명하다.
- 온달전시관은 여러 건물들이 연결되어 있는 구조로 되어있다.
- 10월에는 이곳에서 다양한 행사가 열리는 온달축제가 개최된다.
- 온달산성은 해발 427m에 축조된 돌을 쌓아올린 산성이다. 6세기 고구려시기에 만든 것으로 알려져 있다. 형태는 매우 단순하며 원형의 모습이 잘 보존되어 있다.
- 온달관광지 내에 위치한 온달동굴은 약 4억5천만년 전부터 형성되어 왔으며 이역시 관광객들에게 사랑받는 장소이다.

Travel Korea Chungcheongbuk-Do 충북
Chungcheongbuk-do is a province in the center of South Korea. There are significantly agricultural products include rice, barley, beans, potatoes and specialize product is Ginseng. There are many things to do such as biking, hiking and fishing. Moreover there are many festivities held in through out the place. You will be able to see beautiful radical nature of Korea with travel Chungbuk.
A place where you can do both fishing and the family gravesite visit. (Danyang, Choongju Lake)
Almost every Korean-even some Christian- go to their gravesite of ancester, offer ritual or show respect, and arrange the gravesite before or on Chooseok.
Going there is very daunting task, traffic-jam and mowing lawn... (Normally they go and return in one day.)
So what if you can do this job and have a rest fising?
Here's one interesting story.
The person who sleeps at the grave since 600 years ago in the video made a written will that any of his offsprings not move their gravestone even if the tomb may be told to be 'drawned,' and he believe the tomb site is the best one of Korean. (badness/goodness of tombsite is regarded extremely important in Asian countries, even in these days.)
The town where the grave stands had been once a town which was submerged for making a dam. The more interesting thing is that a prophet predict that it would be flooded so told to an descendant to move the site.
But the offspring didn't do to keep the will, which is written in genealogy(family book desribing about ancesters).
And voila! The tomb was looking down the lake surrounded by fantastic view. Even in the flood, the water approaches just before the tomb stone. Amazing.
Well, but Korean always remember that it's sad anyhow that habitants of 5-6 big busy towns sacrified to become a hometown-less like people born in North Korea but now in South Korea.

Danyang (2h30) and Guinsa temple (3hrs) are both accessible by the same express bus from Seoul's East Bus Terminal. Departures are only about once an hour, so get there early or book in advance!

Locating in Danyang-gun, Guinsa Temple has been a very popular site for visitors. As the headquarters of Cheontaejong branch of Korean Buddhism, this is huge and provides wonderful experiences such as a day tour or a temple stay.
Visitors have great times watching delicate buildings and feeling peace in the forest.
There's a bus terminal in area which connects this temple to many other cities directly including Seoul.

[TRIPofJHL] 단양 구인사 방문…
충청북도 단양군에 위치한 구인사는 수많은 방문객들이 찾는 장소이다. 대한불교 천태종의 총본산으로 규모가 엄청나며 일일방문 또는 사찰체험(템플스테이)같은 경험을 제공한다. 방문객들은 섬세하고 웅장한 건물들을 둘러보면서 숲에 둘러싸인 절에서의 평화로움을 만끽한다.
부지 안에 서울과 같은 여러 도시들을 직통으로 연결하는 버스터미널이 위치하여 접근성도 좋은 편이다.

[TRIPofJHL] Trip to Mancheonha Skywalk & Nuirimbo Gangmul-gil in Danyang
Locating in Danyang-gun, Manchonha Skywalk is newly opened installation in 2017. It's a marvelous observatory on the mountain. First, the free shuttle included in the ticket bring the people to the top of the mountain. And visitors can arrive at the viewpoint by passing the spiral path easily. The open sides of the installation give visitors a pleasure to see the landscape while climbing up.
- Mancheonha(만천하 萬天下) in Korean means the universe. Like its name, Manchenha Skywalk is the place to walk in the sky and to look down the universe.
- It is said The three emerged decks represents an imaginary bird 'three legged crow(삼족오 三足烏)'.
- Zipwire(Zipline) is also available here and other attractions are still coming according to the website.
- In the evening, the lovely illumination can be watched from the distance.
Nuirimbo Gangmul-gil(Danyang Gang Jando) is a riverwalk built along the cliff. The whole length is 19.2 km. But, Mancheonha Skywalk can be reached after only short track of it. Walking on this amazing road, there's a beautiful view of Namhan River and Sobaek Mountain to the left.

[TRIPofJHL] 단양 만천하스카이워크 & 느림보 강물길 방문…
충청북도 단양군에 만천하 스카이워크는 2017년에 새로이 개장한 시설이다. 산위에 건설되어 단양 시내가 내려다보이는 탁 트인 전망을 자랑한다. 관람권에 포함된 무료 셔틀버스를 타면 산 정상에 위치한 입구앞에 도착하며, 방문객들은 그곳에서부터 천천히 나선형 길을 걸어올라가 상층부에 도달한다. 오르는 동안 뚫려있는 옆면으로 보이는 광경을 보며 마치 하늘을 걷는 느낌을 가질 수 있다.
- 최상층부의 3개의 돌출된 관람대는 전설속의 새인 삼족오(三足烏)를 형상화한 것이라고 한다.
- 이곳에서는 짚와이어(짚라인)도 체험이 가능하며, 추후 추가될 다른 즐길거리도 준비중이라고 홈페이지에 나와있다.
- 야간에는 아름다운 조명을 먼거리에서도 관람할 수 있다.
