Walking on the beach from Durankulak to Shabla
First to excuse myself for the quality of the editing. I am doing this on my phone, where the preview doesn't work, so there are some faults, but this is the best I can do at the moment. A bit later I'll do better video, where these issues are going to be fixed.
I walked on from the Durankulak's camping site to the Shabla's one. At first I thought to pitch up my tent just outside the camping site, but later on I changed my mind and entered the one called Holiday Houses Mezdra. Sleeping in tent costs 2 pounds per person, for which one gets showers and toilets too. Provided basic safety rules are followed also campfires and BBQs can be made. The hosts showed me also the bungalows and in general were exceptionally friendly. They are couple in they late 40s, early 50s with a daughter, called Nona, who is an aspiring journalist and her boyfriend, very pleasant young man, who works as builder. After that the hosts invited me to share a meal with them, and it was a meal, what is seen on the picture is only the beginning, later we had sausages and meatballs on grill, Bulgarian anisette, called Mastika, beers and so on. We stayed around the table until nearly 2 o'clock after midnight and many interesting stories were told.
From all the places I ever visited on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast I'd say that this was by far the best. Very cheap, friendly people, nice sandy beach and in general all that I like in a resort. So Id give it 10/10 from my semi-wild camper point of view.

This video is a short story of a 10 days vacation trip on the Bulgarian seaside, visiting beautiful virgin beaches, historical places, unique places for some photography, local restaurants, wake boarding and wind surfing areas etc. I have uploaded this video to remind people that camping is really fun and that it is up to you to decide where to sleep and that you are more mobile with the places you want to visit. In this video story there are shots from: Camping Gradina, Sozopol, Chervenka, Varvara, Ahtopol, Camping Delfin, Sinemorets, Ropotamo and Veleka rivers, Rezovo (the extreme southeast point of Bulgaria and the European union), Silistar, Kavatsi beach, Beglik Tash (A Thracian rock sanctuary, from the Early Iron Age (10th-6th century BC), St. Parashkeva beach and Arkutino.
Special thanks to our friends from Akasha surfing school (Sinemorets), who shared with us the secrets of wind surfing :)

Bulgarian Black Sea Coast - Best Travel Destination
The Bulgarian Black Sea Coast covers the entire eastern bound of Bulgaria stretching from the Romanian Black Sea resorts in the north to European Turkey in the south, along 378 km of coastline. White and golden sandy beaches occupy approximately 130 km of the 378 km long coast. The region is an important center of tourism during the summer season (May–October), drawing millions of foreign and local tourists alike and constituting one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. Prior to 1989 the Bulgarian Black Sea coast was internationally known as the Red Riviera. Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, however, its nickname has been changed to the Bulgarian Riviera. The Bulgarian Black Sea Coast has a humid subtropical climate, with considerable maritime and continental influences. The area's average air temperature in the summer is about 28 °C, with the average water temperature at 26 °C. There are more than 240 hours of sunshine in May and September and more than 300 hours in July and August. The Balkan Mountains cross the country reaching to the edge of the Black Sea at Cape Emine, dividing the coastline into a southern and northern part. Parts of Bulgaria's northern Black Sea Coast feature rocky headlands where the sea abuts cliffs up to 70 metres in height. The southern coast is known for its wide sandy beaches. The southernmost section is included in Strandzha Nature Park. The two largest cities and main seaports on the Bulgarian Riviera are Varna (third largest in the country) and Burgas (fourth largest in the country). Varna is located on the northern part of the coast and Burgas is located on the southern coast. The two cities' international airports, Varna Airport and Burgas Airport, are the main hubs servicing the region. In addition, the Trakia motorway was completed in 2013, providing fast access between Burgas and Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and Plovdiv, the second largest city. Hemus motorway, scheduled to be completed after 2020, would make the trip from Sofia to Varna substantially easier and faster, while the Cherno More motorway is planned to connect Varna and Burgas. Major road I-9 runs along the Black Sea coast between the border with Romania, at the village of Durankulak, and the city of Burgas. Check out more awesome videos at

Thracian Cult Complex (temple) - Part 1, near Starosel, Bulgaria
As I know from firsthand walking experience, many of the signs are wrong! From the Starosel complex (hotel, spa, winery, restaurant) it's more than 2km! But thanks to Zigzag Holidays for letting me leave my baggage in the van, and to the Spanish group for letting me join them and find the temple. However, the temple was in general disappointing; it wasn't worth the effort I made reaching it, and it doesn't really match the photos because the lighting where the columns are is dim.
Good bye, Greece. Hello, Bulgaria.
Wild beach Karadere, Bulgaria
One of the last wild beaches in Bulgaria. Crystal clear water, fresh air, golden sands and white cliffs. All this makes it an irreplaceable place for lovers of nature, camping, nudism and simply those who seek to escape from every day, artificial civilization.
Karadere is located 3 km north of the city of Byala. Approx. 40 min walk from the center of Byala (walking path) or over 10 minutes by car (dirt road). If you plan to get there by car, use E87 (route 9), which leads from Byala to Varna. Just before the petrol station Petrol on exit from Byala turn right and almost immediately left. You will find yourself on a gravel road that leads to Karadere wild beach along the vineyards. Drive straight for about 2 km until you see a small exit, then turn right. You should be on a makeshift parking lot. For precaution: we would recommend using 4 WD because dirt road is in the quite bad condition, but you can also try to use an ordinary sedan.
