Tour Around the United States of America (USA) in Spring – 4K Time lapse Video.
Toured through the USA on holiday in Spring 2016 shooting timelapse videos along the way. Details & Locations below:
Travel timelapses (day, night, sunset) shot with GoPro Hero 4 Silver at 4K/HD.
Locations:
Niagara Falls (USA + Canada Side).
New York City - Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park.
Washington DC - Washington Monument.
Las Vegas - View from Bellagio of their fountain.
Utah - Zion National Park, Moab: Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park.
San Francisco - Golden Gate Bridge.
Los Angeles - Santa Monica Pier.
Primarily I was at these locations shooting photography but had a Go Pro attached onto my hot shoe mount or onto a bar on on my tripod. Does a great job for effortless timelapses!
Overall my favourite part was Utah and in particular hiring a Jeep Wrangler and driving some trails in Moab - EPIC!
Video assembled and edited in Adobe Premiere CC.

As my friend Bob and I travel from our camp outside of Atlanta Georgia through the Smokey Mountains of Northern Georgia and South Carolina toward Asheville, we find free camping in Pisgah National Forest. But we're not sure if it's legal/permitted camping or not. I talk about the risks I sometimes take when finding free camping in National Forests

Natural Chimneys at Mt. Solon, Virginia
Located in the upper Shenandoah Valley near the community of Mt. Solon, Virginia, is the Natural Chimneys Regional Park. The property is owned and managed by Augusta County. The namesake of this park are the 500 million year old limestone chimneys. The highest of these towers over 120 feet above ground level. The rock formation was created under the ocean and then pushed up by magma as the Appalachian Mountains were formed. Caves and sinkholes collapsed, and other forces destroyed weaker layers of rock and eventually formed the chimneys as they are today. The park offers many recreational activities.
Fun Fact: every August since 1821, this park hosts one of the largest jousting tournaments in the United States.

TRIP REPORT - Amtrak Texas Eagle (Bedroom), San Antonio to St Louis
Ever since my absolutely crazy trip report of the Lake Shore Limited (my favorite video I've ever produced - I've received tons of requests for more long-distance Amtrak trips. And I've really wanted to do another one myself. It took a while for the right opportunity to present itself. These trips can be expensive and take a lot of time. But the stars aligned at the end of a trip to San Antonio earlier this year when I realized I could spend the better part of my weekend riding a direct train back home. And for some reason the train was super empty on this particular day - which made the ticket cheap and filming much easier.
Strangely the full bedroom actually came up cheaper than a roomette when I booked (Amtrak has a really goofy reservation system), so I was able to try a new type of room on a train I'd never been on before. Awesome! There's so many highlights in this video, but just to name a few:
-Overview of San Antonio station and boarding process
-Detailed tour of Superliner bedroom
-Arrival footage in all major Texas cities
-Full tour of the entire train
-Demo of setting up the bed
-Reviews of all 3 meals
I had a ton of fun shooting/editing this one, and I really hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did. I can't say enough good things about the crew on this train. The friendly, personal service combined with great food and early arrivals at almost every station made for the most relaxing day of travel I've ever had. If you ever get the chance, try booking a bedroom on the Eagle!!
