Famagusta is a city on the east coast of Cyprus. It is located east of Nicosia and possesses the deepest harbour of the island. During the medieval period , Famagusta was the island's most important port city and a gateway to trade with the ports of the Levant, from where the Silk Road merchants carried their goods to Western Europe. The old walled city and parts of the modern city presently fall within the de facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Gazimağusa District, of which it is the capital.

    Cape Greco, also known as Capo Greco , is a headland in the southeastern part of the island of Cyprus. It is at the southern end of Famagusta Bay and forms part of Ayia Napa Municipality. It lies between the towns of Ayia Napa and Protaras, both tourist resorts. It is visited by tourists for its natural environment, and is a protected nature park. According to local legend, it is also the home of the 'Ayia Napa sea monster'. Cape Greco is a National Forest Park is under the administration of the Forestry Department of the Cyprus Ministry of the Interior.
