Glenelg is a popular beach-side suburb of the South Australian capital of Adelaide. Located on the shore of Holdfast Bay in Gulf St Vincent, it has become a popular tourist destination due to its beach and many attractions, beautiful architecture and home to several hotels and dozens of restaurants.
Established in 1836, it is the oldest European settlement on mainland South Australia (the oldest being Kingscote on Kangaroo Island), with the proclamation of the colony of South Australia. It was named after Lord Glenelg, a member of British Cabinet and Secretary of State for War and the Colonies.
Bay Discovery Centre IS Located in the Glenelg Town Hall, it provides interesting facts about great history on the foundation of Adelaide, early settlement in Adelaide and exhibits Glenelg's personal interesting history.

【4K ADELAIDE AUSTRALIA】 ADELAIDE TOUR Walking Trail Best Place to Visit
Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia, and the fifth-most populous city of Australia. In June 2017, Adelaide had an estimated resident population of 1,333,927. Adelaide is home to more than 75 percent of the South Australian population, making it the most centralised population of any state in Australia.
Adelaide is north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, on the Adelaide Plains between the Gulf St Vincent and the low-lying Mount Lofty Ranges which surround the city. Adelaide stretches 20 km (12 mi) from the coast to the foothills, and 94 to 104 km (58 to 65 mi) from Gawler at its northern extent to Sellicks Beach in the south.
Named in honour of Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, queen consort to King William IV, the city was founded in 1836 as the planned capital for a freely-settled British province in Australia.

The natural arch known as the Durdle Door juts out into the English Channel along England's Jurassic Coast. Kyle of Lochalsh | Scottish Highlands & Islands Travelogue 2018 | S1E5
We catch the ferry from Craignure on the Isle of Mull back to Oban on the Scottish mainland. We then make the scenic (but rainy) drive north up to Fort William on Loch Linnhe, and then through Glen Sheil over to the Kyle of Lochalsh and Eilean Donan Castle. No camping today, but we do book a room at the Hotel Balmacara where we get a comfortable night's sleep and a good meal. We're surprised to see another Scotland Overland Land Rover at the hotel, but we don't run into the occupants.
This series follows our 2-week Scottish Highlands and Islands adventure from October 2018. Join us as we drive over 1,500 miles in 14 days and visit the islands of Mull, Iona, Harris, Lewis and Skye, and drive parts of the NC500 Scottish Highlands route.
