Walsall is an industrial town in the West Midlands of England. It is located 8 miles north-west of the City of Birmingham and 6 miles east of the City of Wolverhampton. Walsall Bus Station is made up of two smaller bus stations, Bradford Place Bus Station and St Paul's Bus Station, one being larger than the other and providing more services. Walsall railway station is situated on Station Street in the town centre and is also accessible from the Saddlers shopping centre. Walsall is extremely well connected within the UK road network as it is served by the M6 which connects the M1 motorway towards London and M74 motorway towards Glasgow.
Walsall Arboretum was officially opened on 4 May 1874 by the wealthy Hatherton family. The New Art Gallery Walsall opened in 2000. Named, as was its predecessor, the E M Flint Gallery in memory of Ethel Mary Flint, head of art at Queen Mary's Grammar School, an exhibitor at the Royal Academy, and a former mayor of Walsall, it contains a large number of works by Jacob Epstein as well as works by Van Gogh, Monet, Turner, Renoir and Constable. The large gallery space is host to temporary exhibitions.
Walsall has two museums, Walsall Museum and Walsall Leather Museum. Walsall Museum features local history objects primarily from the manufacturing trades and also has a space for temporary exhibitions, while the leather museum displays a mixture of leather goods and has recreations of leatherworkers workshops. The refurbished Sister Dora statue stands at the crossroads of Park Street and Bridge Street. Opposite this stood a locally famous concrete hippopotamus.

몽트뢰에는 또 하나의 명소가 있다. 레만 호의 백조라 불리는 시용 성이다. 마치 조각처럼 멋진 외관을 자랑한다. 시용 성은 특이하게도 호숫가에 만들어졌기 때문에 더욱 유명세를 탔다. 13세기 초 이탈리아의 사부아 가에서 세운 이후, 수세기 동안 개축된 것이다. 사부아 가는 스위스에서 이탈리아로 넘어가는 경계였던 이곳에 성을 짓고 통행료를 거뒀다고 한다. 1536년 스위스 사람들이 점령한 이후 시용 성은 방어 요새였다. 이후 병기창과 감옥 등으로 사용되었다고 한다. 곳곳에 요새였던 흔적이 잘 남아 있다. 성곽의 돌을 파내 만든 활 쏘는 자리가 흥미롭다. 방어 탑에서는 적의 동태를 한눈에 살펴볼 수 있게 돼 있다. 사부아 가의 영주 침실로 사용되었던 방이다. 당시 벽화 장식의 흔적이 잘 남아있다. 그 옆방의 욕실이 흥미롭다. 중세 당시 귀족들의 생활상을 엿볼 수 있다. 당시의 변기가 사람들의 시선을 끈다. 호수로 이어진 자연 정화조인 셈이다. 시용 성을 유명하게 만든 것은 지하에 있는 감옥이다. 죄수에게 씌웠던 쇠사슬이 그 흔적을 말해 준다. “이곳은 시용성의 죄수로 잘 알려진 보니바르가 6년 동안 갖혀 있던 곳입니다. 시인 바이런 경이 이 이야기에 감흥을 받고, 보니바르에 관한 서사시를 썼어요.“ 스위스의 개혁가 보니바르는 사보이 영주의 폭정에 저항하다 이곳에서 6년 동안 고통의 세월을 보낸다. 1816년 이곳을 방문한 영국의 시인 바이런은 ‘시용 성의 죄수’라는 서사시를 짓게 되고, 이 시로 시용 성은 유럽에 널리 알려지게 된다. 감옥 내 기둥에는 바이런의 친필 서명이 새겨져 있다. 그 옆 암벽에 바이런의 시용 성 방문 기념패가 붙어 있다. 호숫가의 시용 성 모습이 한 폭의 그림 같다.

Tour of Gobbins Coastal Walk Islandmagee Co Down
On Saturday 11th of August 2018 we finally got booked in to see/walk and experience the famous Gobbins Coastal path. This stunning spectacular coastal walkway over modern replicas of the original 1902 series of bridges has been described as the most dramtic walk in Europe. You can judge this for yourself when you come to visit. If you cannot get here I hope my video tour and accompanying commentary will give you an very good idea what you can expect to see. We had a great day on the walk. Our tour guide was Olwen. She was fun, a real people person and clearly loved the Gobbins and sharing her knowledge about them with others.
' The Gobbins, near Islandmagee, County Antrim, is a spectacular coastal walk along the Causeway Coastal Route. It is a 40 min. car trip from Belfast past Carrickfergus.
A 2.5- hour fully guided walking tour offers visitors the opportunity to experience the abundance of birdlife, amazing scenery, geology which exist along this dramatic coastline. Stunning bridge architecture links the path over rocky inletsand deep chasms.
Originally opened in 1902, the path has been restored and is now enjoyed by visitors from across the world who come to experience the dramatic scenery that awaits them along this stretch of coastline. Weaving its way along the basalt cliffs of the famous Causeway Coast, you will walk suspension bridges, through a tunnel and along pathways and see the ever-changing flora and fauna along the cliff face. Be amazed by the closeness of Scotland as you peer across the Irish Sea to the East. You will learn about the geology and biodiversity of the area, as well as its amazing history.
The Gobbins Path was masterminded by the Irish railway engineer, Berkley Dean Wise as an incredible tourist attraction. The path originally opened in 1902 and was later abandoned in the 1960’s until an investment of over £7.5 million brought about its rebirth in 2015.
The Gobbins Experience
The Gobbins Path is an arduous trek that is often narrow and uneven, accessed by a very steep pathway. Due to the nature of the rugged coastal location suitable outdoor clothing and walking/hiking boots with thick tread and ankle support are essential. Without exception, all guests must wear a safety helmet whilst experiencing The Gobbins. To enjoy The Gobbins a good level of fitness is needed. You must be fit enough to climb 50 flights of stairs and walk a very steep 1 in 5 gradient.

Unfinished Church, Attraction In St George Bermuda
Construction of the Unfinished Church, a replacement for St Peters Church, began in 1874. Disagreements amongst the congregation, financial problems, and storm damage, meant it was never completed.
It is now one of the major attractions in St Georges Parish, located just north of the town of St George, on the way to Tobacco Bay.
The Unfinished Church is managed by the Bermuda National Trust.
Birmingham Back to Backs AND Custard Factory | Awesome Wave
Day out in Birmingham. We visited the National Trust's Back to Backs followed by a wander around the Custard Factory.

The Back to Backs are the last remaining back to back houses in Birmingham built during the Industrial Revolution when Birmingham was a fast expanding city. The house were quite literally cut into two, one family lived at the front and one at the back. And all centered around a communal courtyard where the lavatories and laundry where located.
The guided tour moves through 4 different houses each recreating a different decade from the 1840s through the 1970s. We learn what it was like to live there at different points over time.
