Gurdaspur district is a district in the Majha region of the state of Punjab, situated in the northwest part of the Republic of India. Gurdaspur is the district headquarters. It internationally borders Narowal District of the Pakistani Punjab, the Punjab districts of Amritsar, Pathankot, Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur. Two main rivers Beas and Ravi passes through the district. 1. Jagatjit Palace Kapurthala
Sir Jagatjit Singh Bahadur was the ruling Maharaja of the princely state of Kapurthala in the British Empire of India from 1877 until his death in 1949. He ascended the throne of Kapurthala state on 16 October 1877. He assumed full ruling powers in November 1890 and then commenced a career as a world traveller and Francophile. He received the title of Maharaja in 1911. He built palaces and gardens in the city of Kapurthala; his main palace Jagatjit Palace there was modelled on the Palace of Versailles. He also built in the Kapurthala city's mosque and a handsome gurudwara at Sultanpur Lodhi, sacred to Guru Nanak. Punjab Da Sohna Pind
A village in Ludhiana with a population of just 2,000 people, is getting a makeover, thanks to a community organisation that works on creating model villages for sustainable rural eco-tourism. RoundGlass Foundation, along with volunteers from different countries, have started working in Aloona Tola village. Apart from adorning the village walls with artworks, they have also created a smart classroom for children in a government middle school in the village.

Sarpanch Naurang Singh said that credit for the project goes to Gurpreet Singh, a football coach, who contacted the organisation and pitched case of the village. Soon, volunteers from around the globe landed in the village and started work with their own funds.
