Homer is a town in and the parish seat of Claiborne Parish in northern Louisiana, United States. Named for the Greek poet Homer, the town was laid out around the Courthouse Square in 1850 by Frank Vaughn. The present-day brick courthouse, built in the Greek Revival style of architecture, is one of only four pre-Civil War courthouses in Louisiana still in use. The building, completed in 1860, was accepted by the Claiborne Parish Police Jury on July 20, 1861, at a cost of $12,304.36, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Caddo Lake State Park is a state park located in eastern Texas. Caddo Lake, the lake that the state park encompasses, is one of only a handful of natural lakes in Texas. The park consists of 8,253 acres west of the lake itself, in Harrison County, near Karnack, Texas. The lake and surrounding area was drilled for petroleum in the 1900s. The lake was created by a gigantic log jam known as the Great Raft.

Homer Alaska Tour of Spit, Shopping, Beautiful Beach & Cruise Port (4K)

Homer Alaska was one of our favorite ports during our June 2017 Alaska cruise aboard the Holland America Amsterdam. There was a free shuttle bus (school buses) provided by HAL (see the ride here: ) that took guests from the pier to the famous Spit area of Homer. Once there, there were plenty of interesting places to shop and peruse. There was even a nice beach that we didn't expect which provided absolutely gorgeous views of the Kachemak Bay.

Other highlights included the City of Homer Port & Harbor marina where we saw a cute River Otter, the Seafarer's Memorial, and the Salty Dawg Saloon. There were tons of visitors from other parts of Alaska there as well, taking advantage of the Homer campgrounds. =======================

I took a 90 day road trip around the Western US states with my girlfriend. Starting out in LA, we drove through California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona & California again, visiting places such as Joshua Tree, Big Sur, Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Monterey, Lassen, San Francisco, the Oregon coast, Mt Hood, Smith Rock, Columbia River Gorge, Seattle, North Cascades, Vancouver, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, Zion, Salt Lake City, Lake Tahoe & Death Valley.

We had good times (most of it) and bad times (Fresno).

We shot a lot of footage.
