Flying over the Kuélap archeological site in Chachapoyas, Peru. Drone video of Kuélap which is a walled settlement built by the Chachapoyas culture in the 6th century AD on a ridge overlooking the Utcubamba Valley. It is located in the mountains in the southern part of the region of Amazonas, Peru. It is situated on a limestone ridge at about 9,850 feet (3,000 meters).

Good Afternoon my name is Guido van Es and i'm the founder director of RESPONSible Travel Peru. I came to Peru 12 years ago as a placement student and it was then that i worked with 2 communities in community tourism where i fell in love with this kind of work. I really saw you can make a big difference, was also back then in 2002 that i met Pablo Tadeo, a leader of the local community who is really passionate about tourism as well as myself and we have been working together in this kind of tourism for several years until in 2009 we founded RESPONSible Travel Peru together initially to help eight communities in northen Ancash province to develop tourism in their communities. That was five years ago, nowadays RESPONS works with almost 70 communities arounf Peru creating employments for hundreds of families in local communities that have no other income except for agriculture activities.
The philosophy of RESPONS is based in obtaining commercial successful the local communities, we teach the communities to improve their tourism products and services and being sustainable as possible, RESPONS will take care the marketing of their products because is the bridge between so many great communities and their market can be an individual traveler or a tour operator.
So far our philosophy has really been working, we've been teaching many communities how to work better and improve their products and we have been recognized by international and national organizations for being one of the businesses most forefront of sustainable tourism in Peru and also most importantly we are actually helping our traveler to travel more RESPONSibly throughtout Peru using local providers that are RESPONSible themselves making sure your trip has the most positive impact on the destination.
In terms of your RESPONSible Trip to Peru you can make it as crazy as you want for example our voluntourism experiences enable you to really help local community, our cocina mejorada project in Vicos is the best example you build an improved kitchen stove for a local family which improve their health and economy and the conservation of the environment.
So far we have already built more than 35 improved kitchen stoves in Vicos and is these kind of impacts that we have on the communities that made me so proud this business.

Chasing Peru's Priceless Golden Fleece
PBS Documentary: once hunted to the edge of extinction for their priceless golden fleece, vicuñas are now caught and sheered by remote villagers high up in the Peruvian Andes.
• Vicuna fleece is worth its weight in gold
• A simple change in the law almost certainly saved the vicuna from extinction
• The vicuna roundup is one of the few Inca traditions still in existence today.
This colorful annual ceremony dates back to Inca times. Back then, a “chaccu” – vicuna roundup – brought together dozens of villages in a vibrant four-day festival. Only Inca rulers and nobility were allowed to wear garments spun from the priceless fleece. Once the Spanish conquistadors arrived, vicunas were hunted to the edge of extinction. In the 1960s Peruvian villagers were given the right to sell the fleece from animals on their shared lands. Overnight remote communities began protecting their vicunas from poachers. Today over 250,000 of them roam the Peruvian Andes.

I filmed this at the circuito magico or Parque de las aguas at Lima, Peru it was the day before the Dia de la cancion criolla a day to celebrate that typical type of music. Every time I go there the theme is different, and it's such a great place to visit, is romantic, but is also a family place . I spent hours there with my hub and bff... and is so cheap just $2.
