Barranco (Lima, Peru) is the most bohemian district in Lima, great for the nightlife. You also find nice restaurants serving delicious Peruvian cuisine. Peruvian food is among the best in the world, and Peru is considered the gastronomy capital of Latin America. So, you should certainly take the chance to enjoy food in Lima when you come for a visit.
In this vlog, we show a little bit of what to eat in Lima, like ceviche, anticuchos and picarones, and we drink Inca Kola and pisco sour. Food in Peru is unique and very tasty! We also enjoy the main areas in Barranco: the beach, Puente de los Suspiros, Bajada de Baños, and the main square.

About Barranco:
Barranco is considered Lima's most bohemian district, being the home and working place of many of Peru's artists, musicians, and photographers. In the 19th-century, it was a fashionable beach resort for the rich and famous, and today, Barranco's beaches are still among the most popular in Lima.
The name Barranco (Spanish for ravine) describes its topography. There's a massive cliff overlooking a sand strip and a beach.

The Amazon’s Boiling River Kills Anything That Enters
When Andrés Ruzo was a boy, his grandfather would tell him tales of a mythical city of gold deep in the heart of the Peruvian jungle. Though never believing the stories to be true, the legend of the lost city stuck with him into adulthood. Years later, as a geothermal scientist, Ruzo decided to investigate. To his surprise, he discovered an incredulous river deep in the Amazon, with water hot enough to kill a human. Historically a place of pilgrimage for shamans and sorcerers, the river now faces increasing threats from poachers, loggers and squatters. Now, Ruzo is working hard to protect it.

Peruvian Cuisine Promperu

Its landscape is very varied and includes deserts along the coast with a scattering of beautiful valleys and beaches, the spectacular Andes Mountains and the broad diversity of ecosystems, and of course, its colonial heritage.
TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE
Tambopata National Reserve is a nature reserve in the Peruvian Amazon Basin south of the Madre de Dios River in Tambopata Province's Inambari and Tambopata districts. It was created on January 26, 1990, to protect the forests adjacent to the rivers Heath and Tambopata that have two important ecosystems and are noted for its biodiversity, representing native flora and fauna with 165 species and 41 families of trees, 103 species of mammals, 1300 species of butterflies and 90 species of amphibians.
The reserve is located across the regions of Madre de Dios and Puno:
• Tambopata is the 40% of the reserve in the department of Madre de Dios.
• Carabaya and Sandia are the 60% of the reserve in the department of Puno.
Access is from Puerto Maldonado, where one can get to the preserve via the Tambopata River; or by car via the Puerto Maldonado--Cuzco Road (kilometer 30).
It has a superface area of 1,478,942 hectares (3,654,550 acres).
The Sandoval Lake is located in this area. There is also a circuit of canoeing which is considered one of the most exciting and beautiful circuit of Peru.
The protected area features eight life zones:
Average annual temperature is 26°C, ranging from 10-38°C; with average annual rainfall of 1600--2400 mm. Rainfall in the protected area is typical of most areas in the Peruvian Amazon. The climate is humid and (3000 mm and 25°C on average), sub-level humidity and semi-warm (1700 mm and 26°C on average), high-level semi-warm (4000 mm and 23°C).
