Czech Republic Travel - Pruhonice Castle
Take a tour of Pruhonice Castle in Czech Republic -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
In the center of the Czech Republic, in the town of Pruhonice, is a unique and striking 12th century castle surrounded by a botanists haven.
The castle and surrounding park was brought into its splendor in the 19th century by its then owner who was also an amateur botanist.
This castle has gone through many architectural changes throughout the centuries, starting with Gothic and ending with its present Neo-Renaissance appearance.
The structure and grounds are owned by, and home to, the Czech Republic Institute of Botany.
The landscape is beautiful and filled with many types of trees, bushes, and flowers.
The beautiful façade of this palace lushly adorned by impeccable gardens makes Pruhonice Castle and Park a coveted piece of Czech history.

The Czech state, formerly known as Bohemia (Čechy), was formed in the late 9th century as a small duchy around Prague, at that time under the dominance of the powerful Great Moravian Empire. After the fall of the Empire in 907, the centre of power was transferred from Moravia to Bohemia, under the Přemyslids.
Czech (Ceske drahy) Train Ride: Prague to Kolin 3 October 2018
The view inside a train between Prague and Kolin, which is just over 30 miles east of Prague, filmed during the morning of Wednesday 3 October 2018. As you can see, the weather was very wet on arrival at Kolin.
Coolest Castle You Never Heard Of-Hluboká Castle, Czech Republic
Hluboka Castle is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. During its history, the castle was rebuilt several times. It reached its current appearance during the 19th century, when Johann Adolf II von Schwarzenberg reconstructed the castle in the romantic style of England's Windsor Castle.
In 1939, when the last owner (Adolph Schwarzenberg) emigrated overseas to escape from the Nazis. The castle was seized from Schwarzenberg by the Gestapo and confiscated by the government of Czechoslovakia after the end of World War II. Although photography is prohibited inside the castle, I did manage to accidentally take a few photos.
