Iași, City in Romania
Iași is a university city in eastern Romania, near the border with Moldova. In the center is the huge St. Paraschiva Metropolitan Cathedral, a 19th-century Orthodox church built in Italian Renaissance style. Nearby, the Three Hierarchs Monastery has an exterior decorated with delicate, Moorish-style stone carvings. Backed by Palas Park’s manicured gardens, the Palace of Culture is a vast neo-Gothic building.

Romania is without a doubt one of my top favorite countries. It was something I realized the moment I left the country to my next country. There is something about the culture, tradition, and spirit of this nation that has my heart. I spend about 2 and a half weeks on a self guided tour around Romania exploring many different cities including a pitstop in Chisinau Moldova. Here is how it went.
From the Ruse border crossing in Bulgaria, I arrived by cab to Bucharest to some really gloomy weather. Out of the whole trip, this experience was one of the most miserable, with tons of rain, overcast, and some winds. As for couchsurfing, my hosts couldn't provide me a key which made me walk around the city for 10 hours. Although It was a rough experience, I did find the city to be beautiful. At my hosts home, I enjoyed some local wine and homemade Romanian cuisine.
First time using Blablacar was from Bucharest to Constanta for only 29 Lei opposed to 50 Lei. Upon arrival, I was greeting by my awesome host from Spain and welcomed me into his apartment with his two other French mates. Together we roamed around Constanta on an unexpected mission to seek out abandoned buildings and structures. We managed to creep into an abandoned Synagogue, apartment building, as well as the imfamous Casino built in 1910.
On two other days, I walked around the Black church and enjoyed some peace and quiet on the beach nearby taking in the sound of the Black sea and taking in the fact that I've been traveling for nearly 2 months.
After a long overnight bus, I made my way to Chisinau Moldova, staying at a cheap hostel near the center. After resting for a bit, I had a delicious meal, walked around the city center, walked to the Circul din Chisinau, an abandoned soviet building, and enjoyed a sunset over the Valea Morilor park. Later in the evening, I enjoyed a movie with some Bucuria chocolate and some cheap Moldovan wine. Fresh in the morning, I caught yet another Blablacar back into Iasi Romania where I spend another day walking around the beautiful city until my host got off work. With her, I enjoyed some Moldovan wine I bought across the border and had some more delicious cuisine.
This wraps up the first half of my journey and only prepares me for an incredible continued voyage across more of Romania as well as the rest of the Balkans. :) Noroc

Timisoara, beautiful city in the south-west part of Romania
If you ever came in Romania don't hesitate to visit TIMISOARA - in the south-west of Romania (Banat province, Timis county).
Narration in English by Harry Morgan
Demographics
Timişoara has a population of 311,586 (2009), the third largest in Romania after Bucharest and Iasi. 14.2% of the population are under 15 years of age, 4.0% are over 75. The Timişoara metropolitan area has a population of 365,545.
The ethnic makeup, as of 2009, is as follows: 85.52% Romanian, 7.5% Hungarian, 2.25% German, 4.73% other. The Ukrainian community is currently growing, partly due to the presence of Ukrainian language educational facilities. In recent years, local investment by Italian companies has spurred the creation of an Italian community, even leading to calls for an Italian Cultural Center.
Climate
The climate which defines Timisoara city is the temperate continental moderate climate which characterizes the Southern-Eastern part of The Panonic Depression. The temperate continental climate has some submediteranean characteristics as well of the Adriatic climate.
Climatic general features consist of various and irregular weather conditions. The dominating temperate air masses during spring and summer are of oceanic origin and come with great precipitations. Frequently, even during winter period, the Atlantic humid air masses bring rainy and snowy weather, rarely cold weather.
Transport
Timişoara's public transport network consists of 10 tram lines, 8 trolleybus lines and 20 bus lines, of which 5 are metropolitan lines and 6 are express lines. It is operated by Regia Autonomă de Transport Timişoara (RATT), an autonomous corporation of the City Hall.
The city is served by Romania's second busiest airport, Traian Vuia International Airport, which is the hub of the Romania's second-largest airline, Carpatair. The city is connected to a series of major European and domestic destinations. Timişoara is a major railway centre and is connected to all other major Romanian cities, as well as local destinations, through the national CFR network.
