South Jeolla Province or Jeollanam-do is a province in the southwest of South Korea. The province was formed in 1896 from the southern half of the former Jeolla province, remained a province of Korea until the country's division in 1945, then became part of South Korea. Gwangju was the capital of the province, until the provincial office moved to the southern village of Namak, Muan County in 2005.

    Yudal Mountain is a mountain located in Mokpo city, Jeollanam-do in South Korea. It is one of the 8 Famous Scenes of Mokpo and is a symbol of the city. At the summit, thousands of islands can be seen with several hills of strange looking rocks. The nickname of the mountain is Mountain Gaegol, which refers to Mountain Geumgang in North Korea during the summer. The three highest peaks are called first, second and madang bawi. Two monuments are found on or near the mountain; the first is a statue of General Yi Sun-sin, the other is of a famous singer Lee Nan-young.
