As sovereign entities, States of Nigeria have the right to organize/structure their individual governments in any way within the parameters set by the Constitution of Nigeria.

Legislature[edit]

At the State level, the legislature is unicameral, with the number of its members equal to three times the number of legislatures it has in the Federal House of Representatives. It has the power to legislate on matters on the concurrent list.

Executive[edit]

At the State level, the Head of the executive is called the Governor, who has the power to appoint people to the State Executive Council, subject to the advice and consent of the State House of Assembly (Legislature). The Head of a ministry at the State level is called a commissioner, who is assisted by a permanent secretary, who is also a senior civil servant of the State.

The Judiciary is one of the co-equal arms of the State government concerned with the interpretation of the laws of the State government. The Judiciary is headed by the Chief Justice of the State appointed by the governor subject to the approval of the State House of Assembly

TRIP TO NIGERIA | VLOG #3

It has been 8 years since I last visited Nigeria. As my mother says I am far too British for my own good, so I decide to take a trip to the mother land. My home town Lagos, Nigeria.

With a wedding on the horizon and many cultural activities in my itinerary, I am certainly excited about this trip back home. Share my journey guys and get a glimpse of Africa through my eyes.

Travel Benin Republic: one night in Abomey. ZeeGoes BackPacking!

This time around, I traveled through the West of Africa, backpacking through Benin Republic and recorded this in a town called Abomey.

Abomey really has a lot going for it from a historical stand point and is also home to a massive vodoun festival every year, but I was not there for that; I just wanted a spot to chill before heading further north of Benin Republic. The kids that I got to play with and little bits I experienced made the town an unexpected pleasure.
It also did not hurt that I spent less than 10k for a dinner and breakfast lodge. Cheers to seeing more of Africa, and in this case West Africa

Also note that the Royal palace is a UNESCO site, so another plus for UNESCO site hunters.
