Kedarnath Dham is situated at the elevation of 11700 feet, in Rudraprayag district of Garhwal Mandal in Uttarakhand state.

If you want to start a journey from Haldwani in Uttarakhand to Gaurikund, the distance is 317 km
Places come in the route - Bhowali, Khairna, Ranikhet, Dwarahat, Chaukhutiya, Karnprayag, Rudraprayag, Agastya Muni, Guptkashi, Sonprayag, Gaurikund
Helicopter services are avialable from Gupkashi and Fata, Currently 6 to 7 operators operators provide heli services from Guptkashi & Fataa
in peak season - May, June, you are advised to book heli services in advance, bookings are availbale online to avoid waiting time, due to the large number of pilgrims, waiting time may be high in peak season)
Apart from the Haili service, pilgrims can complete the journey of Kedarnath ji on foot. Or mule, dolly By Palki or Kandi ...
Parking charges for car in Son Prayag are 120 for the first 24 hours and then Rs 100 for next 24 hours.
Taxis are run in regular intervals from Son Prayag to Gauri Kund, rent of 4-5 kms is Rs 20 per ride.
Badly affected part by natural disaster can be seen in Gauri Kund and other parts of Kedarnath.
From Gaurikund 18 kms trek usually takes 6-8 hours while walking.
A few shops, restaurants, hotels, on the pathway from Gaurikund, many travelers arrive at Gaurikund on the first day and start their journey early in the morning to Kedarnath and reach the Gauri Kund back in the evening.
To reach Kedarnath from Gaurikund, passengers can also use horse /mule, kandi, Doli, Palki etc.

Best Season to visit Kedarnath Dham
Summer is the best season to visit Kedarnath. April and May cover the Summer Season. You can also travel during September and October. It is Pre-Winters during these months. You must avoid traveling there during Monsoon i.e; July and August. During this time this place witness’s heavy rainfall.
The Kedarnath Dham is kept open for the pilgrims for only some months. This is due to the extreme weather conditions. The climate of Kedarnath remains cold during most of the year. Even during summers, the weather can become very cold during the evening
Summer Season: This is the best season to visit Kedarnath Dham. Summer in Kedarnath stays from April to June. The view is beautiful and there is freshness everywhere. Although, even during the summers, it can get extremely cold during the evening. You must carry proper warm clothes to protect yourself.
Monsoon Season: July and August are the Monsoon months in Kedarnath. This place witnesses heavy rainfall during these months. There are chances of landslides and floods. It is advised not to travel during these months.
Pre-Winter Season: September and October cover Pre-Winters. This time is also very ideal to visit the Kedarnath Dham. Just after the rains, the weather becomes very beautiful. The places are full of greenery. The beauty of the whole region increases during this time.
Winter Season: Winters at this place starts around the end of November and continues till March. During this time, the place witnesses heavy snowfall. Due to extremely cold weather, the shrines are kept closed for the pilgrims. It again opens in April.
