Visiting Vietnam's Khe Sanh Combat Base
In May 2017, I was lucky enough to be able to visit Vietnam and tour by motorcycle with Bikes & Drones, who I had gotten to know through this whole YouTube thing.
This first day of touring north took us into the hills along the Ho Chi Minh Road into some mountainous and truly spectacular countryside. Absolute motorcycling heaven! First stop was the famous Khe Sanh Combat Base from the war.

This is the 4th video in a series of motorcycling videos where I spent a week riding around the absolutely stunning mountains and seaside areas of Central Vietnam on a Honda XR125, which was made available to me by Bikes & Drones. I cannot thank him enough for the awesome experience.
Then it was back to Ho Chi Minh City for more adventures before flying home.

Motorcycle Touring Central Vietnam - Day 1, Hue To Khe Sanh
Can you count how many times I say Wow & Awesome in this video?
In May 2017, I was lucky enough to be able to visit Vietnam and tour by motorcycle with Bikes & Drones, who I had gotten to know through this whole YouTube thing.
After an afternoon of getting used to riding in the craziness that is Vietnamese traffic (see previous 2 uploads), the following day we set off into the hills for the first of two 3 day tours. This first day took us west from Hue into the hills and then north along the Ho Chi Minh Road into more mountainous and truly spectacular countryside. Absolute motorcycling heaven! First stop was the famous Khe Sanh Combat Base from the war.
This is the 3rd video in a series of motorcycling videos where I spent a week riding around the absolutely stunning mountains and seaside areas of Central Vietnam on a Honda XR125, which was made available to me by Bikes & Drones. I cannot thank him enough for the awesome experience.

Khe Sanh Combat Base Vietnam Today
We went to Khe Sanh around ten in the morning to visit the museum and see the historic combat base. The base was desolate, almost eerie. The fog was rolling in thick. The video shows the Ta Con airstrip used during the war.

Take a look at how a former airbase town has changed since the Vietnam war as I go to Binh Duong Province to visit Phuoc Vinh.

Hoa's Place.wmv
A published tourist destination well known to all back packers coming through Vietnam, Hoa's Place is destined to fall to the redevelopment ax. Hoa, a buddy of Marine CAP Unit Charlie 2-2-4 when he was a boy, is a friend of all Marines living and passing through Da Nang. Come with us and raise a beer to Hoa's Place with the ex-pat community of Da Nang and Hoi An. Gone but never forgotten.
Cu Chi Tunnels Tour-Vietnam
During the Cu Chi Tunnels tour, we walked through a tunnel (which has been widened for tourists), saw some of the bunkers and booby traps, and walked by a shooting range where you can fire guns for a small price. Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels helped me understand why the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong won the Vietnam War. They dug 70 mile long tunnels by hand and hid there during the day despite horrendous conditions. You have to have a certain amount of fortitude to do that.
Vietnam War Remnants Museum-Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
The War Remnants Museum in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) features photographic exhibits and war memorabilia from the Vietnam War and the story is told from the point of view of the Communist North Vietnamese government. As I say in the video, it's best not to eat before viewing some of the photographs, which can be quite graphic.
The museum originally opened in 1975 as the Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes located in the premises of the former United States Information Agency building. In 1990, the name changed to Exhibition House for Crimes of War and Aggression, dropping both U.S. and Puppet. In 1995, following the normalization of diplomatic relations with the United States and end of the US embargo from a year before, the references to war crimes and aggression were dropped from the museum's title as well; it became the War Remnants Museum It is one of the most popular museums in Vietnam, attracting approximately half a million visitors every year. According to the museum's own estimates, about two-thirds of these are foreigners.

Tour of Maze Bar In Dalat, Vietnam - Most Interesting Bar In The World?
I found this awesome bar in Dalat called the Maze Bar and it really blew me away. Sculptures and crazy art you could get lost in for literally years... I've been in a few bars over the years and this one surely takes the cake. It's a rooftop bar also and has great deals on drinks. What more can you ask for. I highly suggest stopping if you're ever in Dalat. This place will surely blow your mind!!!
