Around 13 miles of walking through this quiet corner of Hampshire; firstly, crossing wide upland fields to East Worldham, then on through woods, 'hangers' and hidden pastures to Selbourne for lunch. Afterwards, it's on across wooded Selbourne Common and gentle downland ridges to Chawton and Jane Austen's home. From there, Alton it's just a few more miles to Alton.

The ancient Pilgrims Way route between the cathedrals of Winchester and Canterbury is 136 miles long. Here is the first 9 miles of the route between Winchester and Alresford in Hampshire. The walk follows the beautiful valley of the River Itchen and goes past some interesting churches at Kings Worthy, Martyr Worthy and Itchen Abbas The walk took place in warm, sunny weather on Tuesday 11 April 2017.

Saunderton Circular Chilterns Walk via Bledlow 24 March 2009
A 10.75 mile circular walk from Saunderton station in the heart of the Buckinghamshire Chiltern hills via the villages of Bledlow and Radnage. The walk took place on Tuesday 24 March 2009 in bright but windy weather.
Great Bedwyn Circular Walk via Shalbourne 13 March 2010
A 13 mile circular walk through the Wiltshire countryside from Great Bedwyn via the villages of Shalbourne and Wilton. The walk also passed Wilton Windmill which is the oldest working windmill in Wiltshire and was built in 1821. Some interesting churches were also passed.The walk took place in sunny weather on Saturday 13 March 2010.

A 10.5 mile circular walk in Berkshire from the large village of Hermitage (about 5 miles north of Newbury) via the villages of Oare, Cold Ash, Ashley Green and Curridge. The walk took place in brilliantly sunny weather on Saturday 26 september 2009.
Stadhampton Circular Walk 31 October 2009
A 12.5 mile circular walk from Stadhampton, a large village south-east of Oxford. The walk went via the villages of Little Milton. Cuddesdon, Garsington, Toot Baldon and Chiselhampton. The walk also passed a dovecot in Ascott Park. The walk took place in cloudy bright to sunny weather on Saturday 31 October 2009.
Time Out Walks, Book 1, Walk 3, Netley to Botley, Part 2. 21/11/10.
Continuing on after lunch along the Eastern side of the Hamble, through the marinas and the mudflats (great for birds!) on to Lower Swanwick. From there, it's back onto the other bank to pass through the fields and woodlands of the council-run Manor Farm, reaching Botley shortly after.
(Some wind interference from a chilly Northerly!).
