More epic adventures:
Every year we go camping in Ontario with few close families of ours. Summer 2018 we went to Balsam Lake in Ontario, Canada. Balsam Lake is about 2 hours away from Toronto. It has many different camping sites available with a beautiful beach for everyone to enjoy.
We were there for 2 days and had the most interesting time. We are all BBQ lovers, and did it for each meal. The bears in our area also loved what we were cooking. Once it got dark and we all went inside our camps, we could hear bears sniffing around and making noise all night long. Once there was day light, we went out and caught the cubs running away.
We also did paddle boating and canoeing at the Lake. Both are available for renting for a fee. The beach also has shallow water where you can swim and enjoy the water and sun.

Big Chute Marine Railway, Trent Severn, Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada
A nice place to visit with family when you're up north in cottage country. There is a marine restaurant (with a nice outdoor patio) close by with awesome nachos. A few steps away is an ice-cream shop. Loads of free parking.
Built in 1977, its a 'one of a kind' unique engineering design, carrying boats over the land barrier at Big Chute. It replaces the original marine railway which was built in 1917 and is still there, but now out of service.

Peterborough LIFT LOCK in 4K, Upper and Lower Chamber
The Peterborough Lift Lock is a boat lift located on the Trent Canal in the city of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and is Lock 21 on the Trent-Severn Waterway.
For most of its life, the lock's dual lifts were the highest hydraulic boat lifts in the world, raising boats 65 ft (20 m).
Address: Trent-Severn Waterway, Lock 21 - Peterborough Lift Lock
&, Hunter Street East, Ashburnham Dr, Peterborough, ON
Website:
The lock operates on a balance system, whereby water is let into the upper chamber, a connecting valve is opened and the heavier chamber automatically descends, forcing up the lower chamber to start a new cycle.

Now you know how it works! This is the boat lift, which is an oversized conveyor belt to transport your boat from Longbow Lake to Lake of the Woods and vice versa. Located at the southern end of Longbow Lake. Tokens at time of travel were $6 CND each. 2 tokens required for a return trip.
