Fair Wine - To more equitable South African vineyards
The South African wines are more and more known and are exported all over the world, but the living and working conditions of employees and thier families are not always ideal. Living directly within the wine farms, they form real communities that are sometimes disadvantaged and isolated from urban infrastructures, schools or health structures.
While the association « Pebbles Project » has developed an educational system for children through a remarkably comprehensive care, some « fair trade » vineyards, such as the Koopmanskloof wine farm, have decided to adhere to the interesting concepts of fair trade.
What are their approaches and how are they attempting to reduce social inequalities within their communities?
