Both the temples are very close to Kolar town and around 75 Kms from Bengaluru.

Someshwara Temple:
Built in 14th Century and is a fine example of Vijayanagara style (Dravidian Style) of architecture.
The temple is well maintained by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of Someshwara in this temple.
One of the main attractions of this temple is the Kalyana Mantapa (wedding stage). The art on the four pillars of the main stage is extremely beautiful. It is influenced by Chinese, Thai and Europian architecture.
Kolaramma Temple:
Kolaramma temple which is only 5 mins walk from Someshwara temple.
Goddess Parvathi worshipped in the form of Kolaramma.
The temple built by Cholas during 11th century.
Another important deity here is Chelamma (Scorpion Goddess). It is a belief that Chelamma protects a person from scorpion bites. In the room next to main shrine, images of Sapthamatrikas are kept.

This is second day of our road trip with office friends to Chickamagalur.
On the firat day we went to Bababudangiri. Detailed vlog of the same can be found here:
Kemmangundi is around 65 Km from Chickmagalur town. After visiting bababudangir, we travelled towards Kemmangundi and ended our day 1 at Joe;s homestay at Kemmangundi. On the next day early morning we started towards Z point of Kemmangundi.
It started to drizzle as we started from Kallathipura.
You need to park your vehicle near the Horticulture guest house and walk further towards Rajbhavan.
It's just 3 km walk from Rajbhavan road to Z point peak
You can also opt for Jeep ride of just 1.5 Km for a hefty price
which reduces the walking distance to half.
During monsoon season you will get to see lots of leeches on this walking trail. Better to go prepared with shampoo, salt, and slaked lime to reduce leech bites.
Walk trail gets more interesting and beautiful after Shanti falls.
High-speed gush of wind, Beautiful green nature and company of awesome friends made this trek to Z point of Kemmangundi most memorable one.

Hampi is one of the most popular destinations in India. Situated on the banks of Tungabhadra river in Ballari district of northern Karnataka, the place attracts a huge crowd from all over the world. Hampi was the glorious capital of mighty Vijayanagara empire in the 13-14th century. Historical stories state that Hampi was a very prosperous and wealthy town filled with extraordinary temples, farms and trading markets. By 1500 CE, Hampi-Vijayanagara was the world’s second-largest medieval-era city after Beijing, and probably India’s richest at that time.
The Vijayanagara empire was defeated by the Muslim Sultanates in the 15th century. The precious monuments and temples were destructed very badly during the fall of the Vijayanagara empire. The Archaeological Survey of India conducted excavation in the area and the results can now be seen in the form of ruins of this great empire. The group of monuments of Hampi is declared as UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986 and the monuments are well preserved.
Surrounded by hills filled with huge boulders, lush green agricultural lands, ancient priceless monuments at each and every corner of the town, Hampi is a must visit place in India. The rich temples are scattered all around the town and need proper planning to avoid missing any of the attractions.
The Tungabhadra river broadly classifies Hampi into two parts – 1) Hampi center side (Kamalapura side) and 2) Anegundi side. Hampi center side contains almost all the tourist destinations and is usually filled with tourists. Anegundi side is on the other side of Thungabhadra river and is usually less crowded. It is often called the hippie island.
The major Hampi center attractions (the one on the Kamalapura side) can be grouped as follows. The places within each group can be covered by walk:
Group 1 – Hampi Bazar, Virupaksha temple, Hemakuta Hill temples, Sasivekalu Ganesha, Kadlekalu Ganesha, Monolithic bull, and Krishna temple.
Group 2 – Ugra Narasimha and Badavi Linga (these are on the way from Royal enclosure to Virupaksha temple)
Group 3 – Royal Enclosure (Queen’s bath, Mahanavami Dibba, King’s Audience Hall, Stepped Tank, and Public tank), Hazara Rama Temple, and Zenana Enclosure (Basement of queen’s palace, Lotus Mahal, Elephant’s stables, and watchtowers)
Group 4 – Monolithic Bull, Mathanga Hill, and Achyutaraya temple
Group 5 – Vittala Temple complex
On the Anegundi side, the main attractions are Anjanadri Hill, Gagan Mahal, and Sanapura Lake.

Kaigal water falls is situated in Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is popularly known as Kaigal falls in reference to the Kaigal village situated about 2.5 kilometres from the Falls. Locally the falls is called as Dumukuralla Water Falls.
Cascading water flow from top sub divides the stream forming three different falls. One plunge waterfall at right and a Shiv Ling beautifully dividing two Cataract falls. The waterfall is natural and water comes from a big rock at a height of 40 feet. Ideal time to witness its force and beauty is during peak Monsoon. There are several natural mini pools below the falls where short swimming can be done but no diving. Its situation in the lap of mother nature gives an added advantage with natural unspoiled surroundings with plenty of exotic birds, shrubs, trees and wildlife. The falls is formed by the Kaigal stream which is one of the two streams to flow in the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary, the other being Koudinya stream. And it is come under Theertham Panchaithi and Baireddipalli Mandal.

- How to reach:
From Bangalore: Travel towards Kolar highway till Mulbagal and take right for Kaigal Village. Post Mulbagal a flyover will come where take the left side service road instead of flyover. Then from below the flyover take right to reach Kaigal Village.
Kaigal village is situated on the Kuppam - Palamaner Highway. As you drive from Kuppam the village comes on the right site and the fall is about 2.5 kilometres from the village. There is a mud road leading to very close to the falls from where a short distance of walk will take you to the falls. Best season to visit is between June and October during the peak rain season. The falls is particularly popular picnic destination for people from surrounding areas.
