EZHUTHANI KADA KOLLAM പൊറോട്ട മട്ടൺ വെട്ടു കേക്ക് പപ്പടം പിന്നെ ചായയും Verity Combination
#Ezhuthanikada #Ezhuthanikadavettucake #EzhuthanikadakeralapuramKollam #vettucake
Ezhuthanikada is at keralapuram kollam its a restaurant without a nameplate and the eccentric looks is infact one of the most iconic restaurants in Kollam City. Ezhuthani Kada as it is popularly known is located at Keralapuram on Kollam to Kottarakkara Road. Dinner hours will be the best time to visit this restaurant, which is open from 8 am to 10:30 pm on all days of the week. Mutton Curry and Mutta Roast two of the main side dishes they serve at this place.
Location- Ezhuthani kada
Road, Nattuvathukkal, Mathinoor, Keralapuram, Kerala 691014
094957 52897
Started in 1948 by Meera Sahib, this is a place, which is adamant on staying as it was without much change. From the old but renovated building in which it functions, to the preparation of the dishes, everything still remains the same as it was from the time of its inception. May be that’s the reason why generations of families who pass through this area still chooses this restaurant to dine in even after so many new restaurants.
When you are traveling from Kollam to Kottarakkara, Ezhuthani restaurant is located right before Keralapuram Junction. They have plenty of parking spaces infront of the restaurant by roadside where you can safely leave your vehicles. They have recently started a new restaurant right at Keralapuram junction for those who prefer an elaborate and better ambience.
This restaurant was known by the name of the family who runs this restaurant. Another specialty of Ezhuthani restaurant is that all the dishes prepared here, uses masala prepared at the owners home itself, and they don’t use any preservatives or artificial colors too. At the beginning this restaurant was fully managed by the members of Ezhuthani family but as the time passed the rush increased and they were forced into employing outsiders but they still maintain the homeliness that made this place famous.
Only four side dishes are available here in which Mutton Curry and Mutta Roast are two of the famous ones. Mutton Curry from this place might look red hot but has only got very moderate spiciness, courtesy of Cashmere chilly used in its preparation. Appam, Dosha, Idiyappam and Porotta are the dishes you can try their famous side curries with. All the dishes in their meager menu card are available throughout the day and they don’t serve meals or biriyani items during afternoon hours.
Made with a local recipe, the Cake Nuggets prepared daily is another one of their famous dish, which anyone who comes to this restaurant buys in numbers and take away as parcel. This cake that might seem simple is as popular as their mutton curry and should be tried if you ever visit this place.
Although this place might seem a bit small and old from outside, you might be surprised with the space and cleanliness this restaurant has. They have another dining area inside which is also furnished with wooden tables and stools. This is a must visit place for anyone traveling through this area and missing this might be a huge crime to your taste buds.
