Kristinestad is a town and a municipality in Finland. It is located in the western part of Finland on the shore of the Bothnian Sea. The population of Kristinestad is 6,605 and the municipality covers an area of 682.53 km2 of which 14.66 km2 is inland water . The population density is 9.68/km2 . The population is bilingual with a majority speaking Swedish and the minority Finnish . The town was chartered in 1649 by Per Brahe the Younger at Koppö island and is named for Queen Christina of Sweden. Kristinestad is known for its old town with low wooden houses and narrow alleys. In April, 2011, Kristinestad became Finland's first Cittaslow community.

1. Seinajoki Library Seinajoki
Seinäjoki is a city located in South Ostrobothnia, Finland. Seinäjoki originated around the Östermyra bruk iron and gunpowder factories founded in 1798. Seinäjoki became a municipality in 1868, market town in 1931 and town in 1960. In 2005, the municipality of Peräseinäjoki was merged into Seinäjoki, and in the beginning of 2009, the neighbouring municipalities of Nurmo and Ylistaro were consolidated with Seinäjoki. The Town library, Lakeuden Risti Church and central administrative buildings are designed by Alvar Aalto. The asteroid 1521 Seinäjoki bears the town's name. Jomalvik kanalen började byggas på ett initiativ av riksdagsledamot John Österholm 1934 för att förkorta vägen in till centrum för skärgårdsborna som annars tvingades runda Gullö, vilket innebar en förkortning av resan med cirka 10 km.
