VENEZUELA. MARGARITA Island. NATIONAL PARK Laguna de La Restinga
Margarita Island (Isla de Margarita, Spanish pronunciation: [marɣaˈɾita]) is the largest island in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta, situated off the northeastern coast of the country, in the Caribbean Sea. The capital city of Nueva Esparta, La Asunción, is located on the island. Primary industries are tourism, fishing and construction.

Национальный парк Лагуна Ла Рестинга состоит из четырех определенных биологических зон - система лагуны, мангровые леса, коса и ксерофильные островки вокруг парка.
Система Лагуны имеет площадь 2 600 Га и состоит из нескольких озер, ручьев, каналов и мангровых лесов, соединяющихся друг с другом. Пресной воды всегда очень мало, она течет маленькими ручейками, которые формируются из дождевой воды, стекающей с холмов полуострова Маканао. Соленая вода заходит в Лагуну постоянно из канала, который соединяет ее с морем в южной части залива.
Глубина у Лагуны небольшая, самая глубокое место 6 метров – это канал, который соединяет ее с морем. Внутри Лагуны глубина не превышает 4-х метров. Комбинация небольшой глубины и большого испарения из-за сильного солнца и ветра приводит к тому, что вода в Лагуне всегда гораздо более теплая и соленая, чем в морских водах по соседству.
Мангровые заросли.
Мангровые леса являются основой этого парка и имеют огромное значение для устойчивого сохранения и развития этой биосистемы.
Мангры работают как якорь, который устанавливает границы между водой и землей. Между их корнями мальки и икринки различных пород рыб могут укрыться на необходимое время для того, чтобы начать свой жизненный цикл.
В манграх живут также ракообразные, моллюски, фито- и зоопланктон. Кроме того на их ветвях находят свой дом большое количество разнообразных птиц и насекомых, а листья деревьев, когда опадают, являются питательной средой для жизни.
Кроме того, мангры обеспечивают защиту от сильных ветров.
Существуют четыре вида мангровых деревьев – Красные мангры(Rhizophora mangle), которые являются наиболее распространенным видом и находятся в непосредственном контакте с водой, черные или розовые (Avicennia germinans) мангры, белые (Laguncularia recemosa) мангры и мангры Ботон (Conocarpus erectus).
Фауна
Парк Лагуна Ла Рестинга отличается богатым разнообразием животного мира. Например, если рассматривать семейства птиц, то в мангровых зарослях можно встретить дроздов, кардиналов, олушей, уховерсток, белых цапель, ясеней и др. Среди рептилий попадаются ящерицы и игуаны. В водной акватории было зафиксировано наличие 90 видов различных парод рыб, таких как кефаль, длиннонос, типалия, очень много устриц, которые живут на корнях деревьев.
Внутри парка проживает постоянно 85 видов птиц и 20 видов, которые мигрируют, при этом основной процент составляют водоплавающие птицы.

Crawling Through Secret Caves of Bonaire - (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 29
We sail from Los Roques to Bonaire, stopping at a tiny bunch of islands called Aves. I’ve never seen so many birds in my whole life! We get salty for a few days and checkout some of Bonaires many dive sites that it has to offer. We throw on some scuba gear and go and checkout the wreck of the 'Hilma Hooker'. She lies in approximately 100 feet (30 m) of water and at 240 feet in length and is quite a site to see! A huge thank you to Alejandro, Tama and Jimmy for being legends and showing us a great time in Bonaire. Thanks for watching and we hope ya'll enjoyed the vid :)
