In Meghalaya, a must visit attraction is obviously Garden of Caves near Cherrapunji in Shillong. We were on our way from Shillong to Cherrapunji and seeing the signboard for Garden of Caves, we took a turn and went on for exploration. You need to watch it for more entertaining experience.

This is a Place called a Garden of Cave and it’s located in Laitmawsiang Sohra, Meghalaya. It far away 45km from Shillong City and 4km from Laitryngew. To reach to this place you have to go through Laitryngew. There are two ways from Laitryngew, one to Sohra and another one to this place Called Laitmawsiang Village.

The name means the abode of clouds in Sanskrit. The state is bounded to the south by the Bangladeshi divisions of Mymensingh and Sylhet, to the west by the Bangladeshi division of Rangpur, and to the north and east by India's State of Assam. The capital of Meghalaya is Shillong. During the British rule of India, the British imperial authorities nicknamed it the Scotland of the East.
1) Double Decker Living Root Bridge, Cherrapunjee
These roots are trained by the Khasis to grow in such a manner as be in the form of bridges on the top of a river. A new root bridge takes about 15 years to get strong enough so that it can bear the weight of people who would be crossing it. Over a span of next few years, the roots become even stronger. It is believed that some of the root bridges are over five hundred years old.
2) Elephant Falls, Shillong
It is a combination of 3 rivers. One of the British officers named it as Elephant falls after they saw a rock which resembled as an elephant. The falls are surrounded with green vegetation that provides a perfect backdrop.
3) Nohkalikai Falls, Cherrapunjee
It is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. The waterfall is located near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. Nohkalikai Falls are fed by the rainwater collected on the summit of comparatively small plateau and decrease in power during the dry season in December - February. Below the falls there has formed a plunge pool with unusual green colored water.
4) Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures, Shillong
It is part of DBCIC (Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures). DBCIC comprises research on cultures, publications, training, animation programmes and the museum, which is a place of knowledge-sharing on the cultures of the northeast in particular, and of culture in general.
5) Mawsmai Cave, Cherrapunjee
This 150m-long natural limestone formation, with its low passages, is very popular with domestic tourists.There’s a ticket counter just before taking the steps to the cave site. These limestone caves have the distinction of being the only caves in Meghalaya that are lit enough to enable tourists to enjoy the natural formations in awe.

A beautiful manmade lake named after Sir William Ward, the then, Chief Commissioner of Assam. Also known as the Polok Lake, it is an artificial lake with garden and boating facilities.
7) Shillong Golf Course, Shillong
It enjoys the rare distinction of being one of the few natural golf courses in Asia. Not only is the Shillong Golf Course scenic and enjoyable, it is also challenging. A group of British civil service officers introduced golf to Shillong in 1898 by constructing a nine-hole course. The present 18-hole course was inaugurated in 1924. The course is set in a valley covered with pine and rhododendron trees.
8) Seven Sisters Falls, Cherrapunjee
Nohsngithiang Falls, known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls is a seven-segmented waterfall located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) south of Mawsmai village. It has the reputation of being the fourth highest waterfalls in India and it is best to visit during monsoons between June and September.
9) Laitlum Canyons, Shillong
One of the least explored place in Shillong. This gorgeous place will provide you a panoramic view of the Rasong village and grassy valleys. This is a must visit destination.
10) Air Force Museum, Shillong
Situated in the headquarters of this command, the museum provides an insight into the glorious history of the Indian Air Force. Visitors coming to this museum can see fighter planes, old aircraft, rockets, missiles and uniforms. The array of things displayed here also includes photographs from the two major wars that India fought against Pakistan and China.

First before promote to Tourist spot it was just a Broom grass cultivation field full of unwanted plants called Kanaraiñ in local language, then the owner of the Land found the natural shape like Heart, Dam full of different Fishes, small pools, wonder stones, slowly promote it to Tourist Spot.
