Lal-lo, officially the Municipality of Lal-Lo, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 44,506 people.During the Spanish colonial period, Lal-lo was known as the City of Nueva Segovia and was the seat of the Diocese of Nueva Segovia before it was moved to Vigan in Ilocos Sur. There is a recent move in the Philippine Congress to rename Lal-lo back to its former name and reclassify the municipality again as a component city.     The Magapit Bridge is suspension bridge that opened in 1978 to connect the east and west sides of the Cagayan River in the province of Cagayan. It is located in Magapit, Lal-lo, Cagayan, Philippines. The bridge was also named by the locals as the Golden Gate of Cagayan. This bridge is one of the only two bridges in the province that runs across the mighty waterway of the Cagayan River. The late Engr. Angel G. Villanueva was the project engineer of Magapit suspension bridge under IWCDC and Japanese consultants.
