List of cities and towns in Iceland
This is a list of cities and towns in Iceland. Some of Iceland’s larger cities and towns are also self-contained municipalities whose geography and populations are therefore equal. However, most of Iceland’s municipalities, which are semi-autonomous administrative zones, contain several disparate towns or cities, each of whose population contributes to that of its respective municipality.
In addition to Iceland's many independent towns, this article includes cities and towns whose municipalities consist of one, self-contained city of the same name, such as Hafnarfjörður and Akranes. Municipalities that are not also cities or towns, such as Árborg, are not included here, but their constituent towns and cities are. For Árborg, these include the towns of Selfoss, Eyrarbakki, and Stokkseyri.
For more information on the administrative divisions of Iceland, refer to the “Divisions” section of the Iceland infobox on this page.

Iceland: Fontana Spa on the Golden Circle (4K)
Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths is located in the centre of the most popular tourist route in Iceland, the Golden Circle.
I visited during a recent vacation to Iceland.
A unique experience! The geothermal springs are incredible. Soak in a natural pool, listen to the bubbling hot spring in the steam rooms, and for the venturesome (or stupid, like me), take a dip in the cold lake!

ICELAND VLOG #14 | ROADTRIP GOLDEN CIRCLE - ÞINGVELLIR, GEYSIR, GULLFOSS, LAUGARVATN FONTANA
Me and my friends have travelled to Iceland and are travelling the south coast of Iceland! We met each other five years ago in college and have stayed close friends ever since then. As one of us wanted to visit Iceland, we decided to all go with her!
This vlog contains the second day of our 5 day stay in Iceland. We decided to do a roadtrip through the soutcoast of Iceland. We filled this day by firstly visiting Þingvellir, which is a national park that lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
The continental drift between the North American and Eurasian Plates can be clearly seen in the cracks or faults which traverse the region, the largest one, Almannagjá, being a veritable canyon. This also causes the often measurable earthquakes in the area.
Secondly, we visited Geysir and Strokkur, where only Strokkur is currently active. It is one of Iceland's most famous geysers, erupting once every 6–10 minutes. Its usual height is 15–20 metres, although it can sometimes erupt up to 40 metres high.
After Strokkur, we visited Gullfoss, Gullfoss means Golden waterfall and is a waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvítá river in southwest Iceland. Definitely worth visiting, it is beyond beautiful!
Because we wanted to have a relaxing evening, we decided to go to Laugarvatn Fontana, literally a two minute walk from our AirBnb. The Fontana is an icelandic spa and has geothermal baths and steam saunas. It was a great way to warm up after a very cold, rainy and snowy day. We loved it!
The AirBnb we stayed at was the following:
We loved it!
Keep watching for my next vlogs!
