Gold Nugget

A gold hunter has had a stroke of luck after discovering Britain’s largest ever nugget - which is the width of a golf ball.  The plucky explorer found the precious 85.7g [2.75 Troy ounces] lump while diving in a Scottish river and it is estimated to be worth upwards of £50,000. Named the Douglas Nugget, it is the biggest gold nugget to have been unearthed in British waters for 500 years. 
It was discovered two years ago by a British father but he has kept it a secret until now.  The man - in his 40s - wishes to remain anonymous due to the magnitude of his find. The nugget was discovered in a mystery river in Scotland and its exact whereabouts is being kept under wraps. 
Gold expert Leon Kirk, from Gold Panning Supplies UK talks about the nugget, with the finder of the ‘Douglas Nugget’ wanting to remain anonymous due to its value worth upwards of £50,000.

Scotland Country Walk - Grey Mare's Tail - Moffat

Our video is a guided walk of the Grey Mare's Tail which is 10 miles from Moffat in Southern Scotland. The walk is a steep climb up the side of Tail Burn, with a number of waterfalls, to Loch Skeen at the top. The views on this walk are stunning.

Narrow Gauge Railways of Great Britain The Hythe Pier Railway October 2017

Just where has this year gone? The last series of 2017 but a couple of trips still could be on the cards.
We have visited 42 new railways in 2017,still many more to go before we can say we have rode on them all.
We start this series with a visit to the Hythe Pier Railway a Narrow gauge three rail electric,very rare to see a narrow gauge electric.
We really enjoyed our stay riding the railway,watching the boats travelling along the Southampton Water in the sunshine.

Sniping a Lovely 0.84g Scottish Picker

On a recent trip back to Scotland and in the are of Tyndrum, i decided to wander off from the area i was working and checked out some bedrock just down stream of a waterfall.
I then came across a Lovely 0.84 Gram picker.

Railways & Museums I want to see in the UK

These are the railway related destinations I would like to visit during my first trip to England and Wales if I ever get to go. I know they are many other places like these across the country but my time and money for one trip are extremely limited, if I ever make it there at all.

I know there's much more to do in the UK besides seeing and riding trains, but I've been fascinated by these beautiful railways since I learned about them in books when I was little, and visiting them is still one of my fondest dreams.

I made this video to show my friends and family here in the states why I'm obsessed with traveling 4000 miles from home just to see some trains.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it there in the summer of 2009.
