Loviisa is a municipality and town of 14,968 inhabitants on the southern coast of Finland. About 43 per cent of the population is Swedish-speaking.The municipality covers an area of 1,751.52 square kilometres of which 931.92 km2 is water. The population density is 18.26 inhabitants per square kilometre . The neighboring municipalities of Liljendal, Pernå and Ruotsinpyhtää were consolidated with Loviisa on January 1, 2010. The Svartholm fortress was built between 1749 and 1764 outside Loviisa in Southern Finland by Augustin Ehrensvärd. The fortress, which lies at the mouth of the Bay of Loviisa, along with the planned land fortress at Loviisa, would have prevented invading Russian forces from entering what was then Swedish territory in present-day Finland.

Nuuksio National Park is one of Finland's 40 national parks. Established in 1994, the park spreads over an area of forests and lakes in Espoo, Kirkkonummi and Vihti. It is the seat of the Diocese of Borgå, Finland's Swedish-speaking diocese . The cathedral is also used for services by the Porvoo Finnish-speaking parish, which is administratively part of the Diocese of Helsinki. The church had first become a cathedral in 1723, when the diocese of Viipuri moved to Porvoo, after the Russian occupation of Viipuri.

Syyskuinen Loviisa tarjoaa seesteistä fiilistä. Kaupunki on kesän jäljiltä jo hieman hiljentynyt, mutta silti tunnelmaa täynnä.

Loviisa (ruots. Lovisa, vuoteen 1752 Degerby) on vuonna 1745 perustettu Suomen kaupunki Itäisellä Uudellamaalla. Loviisan väkiluku on 15 209 henkilöä ja sen pinta-ala on 1 751,52 km², josta 25,78 km² on sisävesiä ja 905,98 km² merialueita. Väestötiheys on 18,6 asukasta/km². Kaupunki on kaksikielinen, ja sen asukkaista 56 prosenttia puhuu suomea ja 43 prosenttia ruotsia.

Loviisan naapurikunnat ovat Kouvola, Lapinjärvi, Myrskylä, Porvoo ja Pyhtää. Kaupunki kuuluu Loviisan seutukuntaan. Pernaja, Liljendal ja Ruotsinpyhtää liitettiin Loviisaan vuoden 2010 alussa.[
