I took a trip a while back and I made a stop at the historic Sherbrooke Village about 2 hours away from Halifax, Nova Scotia here In Canada. I really enjoyed chatting with Rosemary the telephone operator. I learned a lot about how the telephone system came to be in Nova Scotia. The switchboard she was using is from 1910. Something interesting that I taught her is that the cables she uses to connect calls are the same cable ends we use today over 100 years later to connect our guitars to amplifiers and connect other audio equipment together.

Stephenville Theatre Festival - The Nobleman's Wedding

Stephenville Theatre Festival's headlining show this summer is The Nobleman's Wedding. It tells the story of lovers Thomas and Nancy. Nancy is a nobleman's daughter, while Thomas is a lowly sailor. Will the two lovers find a way to be together?

Pamela Morgan was inspired to write this play after hearing a folk song of the same name from Jack and Ellen Carroll of Stephenville in the late 1970s. While The Nobleman's Wedding has been performed before, this Stephenville Theatre Festival production marks the premiere of an extended reworked two-act version.
