LEIBNITZ - CAMPING ERLEBNISBAD - AUSTRIA
Camping Erlebnisbad in situated in the outskirts of Leibnitz in Austria, right on the edge of the city park. The camping itself as well as the surrounding area is peaceful and quiet, allowing for a relaxed stay. The camping if medium-sized and it appears to be family oriented, it most prominent feature is the big sport complex adjacent to it which accessible to everyone (paid entrance) every day from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. Camping guests can enjoy it free of charge. The sport complex includes two large swimming pools: one of which is a proper swimming pool with marked tracks while the other one features water slides and fun areas for kids. There are also several football pitches, beach volleyball courts, a running track and vast grassy grounds where you can relax or do your workout. It is worth to point out that the swimming pools were open already in May, which is not so common!
The camping offers numbered grassy pitches, the ground is even and some of the pitches have additionally sets of wooden tables and benches, which you can comfortably use to sit and/or eat outside while not taking the trouble to use your own equipment. Since there is a lot of trees around, the area is a bit dark and the access of light is not sufficient which gives perhaps a slightly gloomy impression.
The wifi signal is strong, but there is an additional charge for it. The staff seem nice even if their English is not perfect, but the camping does not have a proper reception, just a little booth with a window. The service buildings, the toilets and showers are decent but not great. At first glance everything seems fine and clean but if you take a closer look, some areas are not exactly spotless, as if the cleaning staff were not cleaning them equally well.
We spent 2 nights on this camping and the general impression we got is that even though most its facilities are good enough, there is something missing there. Perhaps it is the gloom of the rather dark pitches or the general feel of boredom that is present there that makes this place not as exciting as it could be. Our overall rating is therefore 6 out of 10 stars, but this is based on our subjective assessment.
