Severn Bore. Elmore near Stonebench. 10:30am 9/4/2016
The Severn bore is a tidal bore seen on the tidal reaches of the River Severn in England. This is 2 miles from where I live. This one is a 4 Star about the best it gets.
Drone footage shows surfers riding the Severn Bore
It's not Bondi Beach or Maui. Instead surfers from around the world braved chilly conditions of Newnham-on-Severn, in Gloucestershire to ride the river's Bore, on Friday. The Bore, which is a tidal phenomena that occurs in the lower reaches of the river, can been surging up the estuary carrying a slew of surfers. Hundreds of spectators are also seen lined along the riverbank to catch a glimpse of the first and only daytime five-star bore.

Tidal Bore on the River Mersey 9th September 2014
I filmed the Mersey bore as it passed two locations: Wigg Island (which sits in between the Manchester Ship Canal and the Mersey, in Runcorn) and Forrest Way Bridge (near Sankey Bridges, Warrington). The start of building work on the new Mersey Gateway Bridge can be seen (two cranes by the river bank) on the opposite bank to the power station.
The largest wave I observed was about 2ft, and sometimes the bore almost disappeared as it entered deep parts of the river. As the bore approached the Forrest Way Bridge, many waves appeared to be stacked up behind the main header in a regular pattern. These are known as whelps.
Expected high tide at Liverpool Gladstone Dock on 9th September, 2014: 9.8m at 11:59.
The bore passed Wigg Island at 10:45, and passed under Forrest Way Bridge at 11:50.
