My Favourite Photo Location in Japan
It wasn't funny. But, someone dropped their camera into the castle moat in Hijemi Castle. Yikes.

At Hijemi Castle, a local photographer dropped their camera gear into the castle moat. It looked like it was a Sony A7R ii and a g-master 16-35mm lens. That must have been painful. I did offer to jump in and get it. But, instead he opted to call for help to dig it out from the castle moat. I hope his camera is ok.
Hijemi Castle is a brilliant place. It really is fantastic. In fact, it might be the best place in Japan to see the cherry blossoms. The castle itself is unreal, but the park in front of it is just packed with cherry blossoms. It made for a really fun place for photography.
In fact, this might be my new favourite place for photography in Japan.

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo in Bunkyo Ward invited local children to its Japanese garden in January to release firefly larvae into the stream. The kids returned in June to find the bugs fully grown and glowing.

Kimono Vlog Kawazu-zakura cherry blossom in full bloom
Kawazu-zakura are early-blooming cherry blossoms start to bloom in mid February. Kawazu in Shizuoka is famous for them so that many people come to see when its season in full bloom every year.
We were going to another great place in Minamiizu for viewing kawazu-zakura in fully bloom luckily on such a beautiful sunny day.
