Neiden is a village area in the Sápmi area along the Finland–Norway border with about 250 inhabitants. Neiden, situated along the Neiden River, actually consists of two villages separated by the border of Norway and Finland. One side is in Sør-Varanger Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway and the other side is in Inari Municipality in Lapland, Finland. Neiden is the official name in Norway and Näätämö in Finland. The European route E06 highway runs through the Norwegian village of Neiden. The Norwegian part, in the municipality of Sør-Varanger, covers 19.1 square kilometers , while the Russian part, in Pechengsky District, Murmansk Oblast, covers 147.3 square kilometers . The nature reserve includes unexploited parts of Pasvikelva and has a rich birdlife.Along with Øvre Pasvik National Park and Øvre Pasvik Landscape Protection Area in Norway and Vätsäri Wilderness Area in Finland, Pasvik Nature Reserve constitutes part of Pasvik–Inari Trilateral Park.

Me and a few colleagues from work went on a 3 day paddling trip in Reisaelva in Northern Norway. We was transported 25km up the river by river boat and spent the weekend paddling down in one cano and two packrafts ,camping and fishing along the way.
