Khartoum, Sudan
Khartoum is the capital and second largest city of Sudan and Khartoum state. It is located at the confluence of the White Nile, flowing north from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile, flowing west from Ethiopia. The location where the two Niles meet is known as al-Mogran meaning the confluence. The main Nile continues to flow north towards Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea.
Divided by the Niles, Khartoum is a tripartite metropolis with an estimated overall population of over five million people, consisting of Khartoum proper, and linked by bridges to Khartoum North and Omdurman to the west.

Мы заехали в Хартум с юга. Страна специфическая, но достаточно интересная. Основное население - арабы.
Предпоследняя страна Африки, которую мы посетили в трансафриканской экспедиции - Судан. Страна, переживающая санкции США с 1997 года.
Госдепартамент США говорит, что Судан - страна посещение, которой является нежелательным. В стране до недавнего времени велись военные действия. Правда только на спорных с Южным Суданом землях - в Дарфуре.
Страна где существует полноценный черный рынок валюты, а обмен доллара США за пределами банков - уголовное преступление! Все это делает путешествие в Судан интересным и увлекательным!
Как вы понимаете, нам необходимо было не только произвести обмен долларов США на Суданские фунты, но и избежать ареста, со стороны бдительных полицейских.
Санкции США наложены на Судан как на страну - спонсора терроризма. А в дальнейшем ужесточены, после отделения Южного Судана от северного и непрекращающегося спора в районе Дарфур. В результате доллары (и остальная валюта) оказались, практически, вне закона в Судане и там сформировался черный рынок валюты.
Африка, санкции США, Россия, госдеп США, Хартум, Дарфур, Россия санкции США, черный рынок валюты.
Там совсем нет туристов, как и самого туризма. А все туристические достопримечательности Хартума - очень условны. Хотя в Судане очень много достопримечательностей.
