Albania Number 1 Spot in the Top 10 Countries - Albania Spot
Lonely Planet's Best in Travel has just come out, and Albania has claimed the number one spot in the top 10 countries.
Where did the Albanians come from?
The national name Albania is derived from Albanoi, an Illyrian tribe mentioned by Ptolemy about 150 AD. From what is known from the old Balkan populations territories (Greeks, Illyrians, Thracians, Dacians), the Albanian language is spoken in the same region where Illyrian was spoken in ancient times.

Greek Street Food Tour in Athens, Greece Travel Video Transcript:
Today's plan is to sample all the Greek Street Food. We have come to Athens Flea Market and I know this seems like a bit of a strange place to be having street food but they have a lot of little stands and shops where you can get souvlaki, gyros, baklava. We're just planning to walk down the main road of the flea market and just peruse have a look around and see what we can sniff out and have a fantastic meal on the street. And if you're interested in recreating this little food tour that we're about to embark on the closest metro station is Monastiraki so there you go. Let's go eat.
Now it is time for food. We ordered the Gyro and Souvlaki. Both of them in pitas. The meat is so juicy. Is it? Juicy and tender and it is like soaking the bread with its meaty juiciness. And then all of the freshness of the vegetables right? And the price was also wonderful. They were 2 Euros each.
We have moved on to a little something sweet now. It didn't take us long let me tell you. Well we got Greek Yogurt. And this is not just any Greek yogurt. This is this comes with some amazing toppings. Yes. It has got a super saturated amount of honey. It has walnuts and we also ordered dates as well.
We found a man who was selling nuts. Yes. And he was very friendly and animated. He was so friendly and passionate and also very generous allowing us to sample them.He let us try the nuts before we bought them. What a nice guy. We ended up getting a sweet one and a salty one. And then because we bought two packs he gave me a whole bunch extra in my hand. He was just like open your palm and he put a whole bunch of nuts.
Exciting moment over here. Trying my first Greek coffee. I somehow didn't manage to try Greek coffee the first time I was in Greece. I don't think I was drinking a lot of coffee a few years ago. No.
That is the only thing I can think of. We've found a cute little cafe here in the heart of the flea market so we thought let's sit down for a quick drink.
That is potent. Yeah, strong coffee? Potent, rich, strong.
Baklava. Better believe it. We've been having a lot of this here in Athens. Look at all of that syrup just oozing out. That honey.
Last but not least. We found some bread. It is reminiscent of a pretzel I would say. Apparently this is called Koulouri.
The lady said this was the most traditional of the ones that she was serving. It is a ring shaped piece of bread covered in toasted sesame seeds.
That concludes our Greek Street Food Tour here in Athens, Greece. We ate so many delicious street food items. And we'd love to know what are some other Greek street food items that you can try. We obviously didn't try them all just a very small component of them. Everything was really good and that was just a lot of fun. Ciao from Athens, Greece.
This is part of our Travel in Greece video series showcasing Greek food, Greek culture and Greek cuisine.

Athens | Getting Around Attica
We are going to look at using the National Railway System and the long-distance bus services in order to get around greater Attica and mainland Greece. There are various options to get you to your destination comfortably at surprisingly low prices. For travel within the provinences of Athens, the greater Attica, you can use the orange intercity bus which in Greek is called KTEL bus and you can get to great destinations, such as Marathon or Cape Sounion, or in between beach rides quickly and on a budget! There are two locations that you can find these orange KTEL buses. The first is located at Pedio Areos area within 5 minutes of walking distance from the Victoria metro station and very near to the Natioanl Archeological Museum and the second is on the square called Platia agion Asomaton at the historical center which is located right on the Thision metro station. Pirates and Lost Treasure of the Caribbean
From the Global Village Travel Guide and DVD, Caribbean. Stock footage available from
Transcript:
From the beginning of Spanish conquest in the New World, billions of dollars of silver, gold, emeralds and pearls were loaded in ships for the voyage to Spain. Hundreds of these ships were taken by pirates, and almost as many foundered on shoals or were sunk by storms.
Just as long as there have been ships carrying bounty and pirates raiding them, so too have their been shipwrecks and sunken treasure.
The Anegada Passage, a principal route between the Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands into the Atlantic, is a treacherous channel lined with hidden reefs which has snared many a vessel over the years.
Today, people are still finding these shipwrecks, sometimes discovering treasure in the depths. For more than forty years, Bert Kilbride, based on Saba Rock off Virgin Gorda, has been diving in these waters. He has been designated Her Majesty's Official Receiver of Wrecks, and he knows, perhaps better than anyone, what lies beneath the surface.
Kilbride interview, showing artifacts, talking about dive sites, suspected sites, etc. end with...
The Kilbrides run a dive operation that will take visitors to explore any number of shipwrecks in the area, to see for themselves what lies in the deep.

Norwegian B787-8 bad weather splash landing after HEAVY rainfall - MUST SEE! [AirClips]
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSE: NAS), trading as Norwegian, is the third largest low-cost carrier in Europe, the second-largest airline in Scandinavia, and the ninth-largest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers. It offers a high-frequency domestic flight schedule within Scandinavia and to business destinations such as London, as well as to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, transporting 20.7 million people in 2013.
As of August 2014, Norwegian operates 98 aircraft of which 90 are Boeing 737s and 7 are Boeing 787 Dreamliners, and is known for its distinctive livery of white with a red nose, with individual portraits of noteworthy Scandinavians on the tail fin. The airline has bases at Oslo (OSL), Copenhagen (CPH), Stockholm (ARN), Helsinki (HEL), London (LGW), Málaga (AGP), Las Palmas (LPA), Alicante (ALC), Bergen (BGO), Trondheim (TRD), Stavanger (SVG), Barcelona (BCN), Tenerife (TFS) and Madrid (MAD).
Norwegian launched its long-haul operation in May 2013. In line with the majority of Norwegian's operations also the long-haul flights are operated by two fully owned subsidiaries. Norwegian Long Haul is a legally separate entity with two unique AOC but shares branding and commercial set up with the rest of the Group. A crew base for long haul is established at Bangkok (BKK).
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Its variants seat 242 to 335 passengers in typical 3-class seating configurations. It is Boeing's most fuel-efficient airliner and the world's first major airliner to use composite materials as the primary material in the construction of its airframe. The 787 has been designed to be 20% more fuel efficient than the 767 it is to replace. The 787 Dreamliner's distinguishing features include mostly electrical flight systems, a four-panel windshield, noise-reducing chevrons on its engine nacelles, and a smoother nose contour. It shares a common type rating with the larger Boeing 777, allowing qualified pilots to operate both models, due to related design features.
The aircraft's initial designation was the 7E7, prior to its renaming in January 2005. The first 787 was unveiled in a roll-out ceremony on July 8, 2007 at Boeing's Everett assembly factory, by which time the aircraft had 677 on order; this is more orders from launch to roll-out than any previous wide-body airliner. By November 2014, the 787 program had logged 1,055 orders from 58 customers, with All Nippon Airways having the largest number on order.
Development and production of the 787 has involved a large-scale collaboration with numerous suppliers worldwide. Final assembly is at the Boeing Everett Factory in Everett, Washington. Assembly is also taking place at the Boeing South Carolina factory in North Charleston, South Carolina. Both sites will deliver 787s to airline customers. Originally planned to enter service in May 2008, the project has experienced multiple delays. The airliner's maiden flight took place on December 15, 2009, and completed flight testing in mid-2011. Final Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) type certification was received in August 2011 and the first 787-8 model was delivered in September 2011. It entered commercial service on October 26, 2011 with launch customer All Nippon Airways. The stretched 787-9 variant, which is 20 feet (6.1 m) longer and can fly 450 nmi farther than the -8, first flew in September 2013. Deliveries of the 787-9 began in July 2014; it entered commercial service on August 7, 2014 with All Nippon Airways, with 787-9 launch customer Air New Zealand following two days later.
The aircraft has suffered from several in-service problems, notably fires on board related to its lithium-ion batteries. These systems were reviewed by both the FAA and the Japanese aviation agency. On January 16, 2013, the FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive that grounded all 787s in the United States. The EASA, Japanese Transport Ministry, India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and Chile's Dirección General de Aeronautica Civil (DGAC) followed suit and grounded the Dreamliners in their jurisdictions. After Boeing completed tests on a revised battery design, the FAA approved the revised design on April 19, 2013, and lifted the grounding on April 26, 2013. The 787 returned to passenger service on April 27, 2013, with Ethiopian Airlines.
