End of 2017 Trip to PADDYS RIVER FALLS & BAGO STATE FORREST, NSW
Happy Sunday Fellas! Here's a video from me and my mate's trip to the Paddy's River Falls and Bago State Forrest end of last year. They're about 5 hours south west of Sydney.
We stayed overnight in a small town of Batlow which is well known for the apple ciders.
We returned to the falls at midnight hoping to get some good astro after checking the star forecast. But we totally forgot to check the moon forecast, which happened to ... well ... ruined our plan

Overland Southwest China 2 Dragon's Backbone Rice Terrace Fields
We left Yangshuo back to Guilin and took a two hour bus to Longsheng where we found an excellent lunch. From there we prepared to head up to the Dragon's backbone rice Terraces. We hopped on a vehicle going that direction and ended up in Dazhai. This turned out to be a good thing, no tourists and at the top of the fields which put us in the perfect position for the early morning sunrise over the fields, absolutely beautiful. Hiking through the small Yao minority villages of the area on small trails through the rice fields was amazing. Find out more about me at

BLUEWATERHOLES, Snowy Mountains, NSW. Scenery, river, caves & waterholes.
Access to the Blue Water Holes via a trail that travels through plains covered with lovely snow gums; to the restored Coolamine Homestead, en route to the river that emanates from an underground source.
This video includes footage of Clarke's Gorge, the Coleman Cave, a hike through the narrow Nichols Gorge; cut-out by Cave Creek, with its spectacular limestone cliffs, and cave formations on either side.
It includes a walk down into Clarke's Gorge & you will experience panoramic views of Clarke's River & Gorge & limestone formations.
As well as the beauty of the rock features, some of which were formed more than 400 million years ago, the landscape is dotted with snow gums and black sallee (another high-altitude eucalypt with dark bark), rare discaria shrubs, and vibrant yellow billy buttons. You'll likely see grey kangaroos bounding in the distance and wedge-tail eagles circling overhead.
Riding ATVs Quad Bikes in Bali, Indonesia
Vendor: Aussie Bali Adventures
In 2015 we had a family holiday and we decided to try out a ATV Trip on the beach. We paid 130 aud per tandem and non tandem 90 aud, which is HUGE money in Bali for quad bikes the price even matches some places here in Australia which is a bit of a joke.
Well the trip itself was really problematic, two of the four bikes had broken down. but we ended up using the guides bikes and my bike had little no no breaks and I almost crashed my bike into my dad at the end of mountain as I could not stop.
OKAY this sounds horrible, but this was the highlight of my trip to Bali, you get to ride your bike on pristine beaches, go off road on bumpy small trails, ride your bike though a locals village and head through BEAUTIFUL rice fields.
I hope the owners try to lower the cost because this might sway people away from using Aussie Bali Adventures.
If you are interested in checking out the services for Aussie Bali Adventures go to there website aussiebaliadventures.com
Please note this is not a paid promotion I am just trying to help out people.
Thanks to Ange, Dad, James, Bien and Lea for the great day out it was a memory that will last a lifetime!

Climbing Mt Zeil
Mt Zeil is the highest peak in the Northern Territory, Australia. The first clip shows Mt Zeil as seen from the south east at Mt Sonda. There are many stories online of people who set out to climb Mt Zeil but turn back due to lack of water and the desert heat. If you're camping in the Australian desert it's a good idea to not leave anything important on the ground because Dingoes will steal things often just for fun. I know a guy who woke up in his swag with a Dingo pulling his blanket away.
Creatures that live in the desert successfully are fighting a constant battle for water and it's important to remember this; if you leave any food scraps around the first to discover it will be ants and they'll quickly set up a production line towards your tent if you aint careful. Even your faeces will interest them, if you do a piss in the desert don't be surprised if 10 minutes later there are hundreds of ants quickly taking a drink from the wet patch you've left on the ground before the sun evaporates it. Best to take a piss away from your campsite. :-)
Take a high potency insect repellant like Bushmans. In the first few days in the desert you will be adjusting to the extreme heat and it's a good idea to have some Panedeine in your backpack because you may get a headache. Also note that if the weather forecast says 38 degrees it'll actually feel like its about 48 because there is very little shade in the desert.
In the video we first attempt to climb Mt Zeil from the west side at night when the weather is cooler, but this becomes too difficult due to extreme wind. The spinnefex grass along the west route was thicker than I thought making the trek slow, I was confident that I could reach the summit by sunrise but knew it would be unsafe climbing back down as the weather forecast for the following day was 38+ degrees and we may not have had enough water. The topography maps of the west side are also inaccurate.
A cool change was predicted for the following week; the forecast was correct. Four days later at only 26 degrees celsius we finally succeed in reaching the summit. During this 11 hour return hike we consume all 16 litres of water that we started with. We had another 120 litres of water in the 4WD at our campsite.
I highly recommend climbing up this mountain from a ridge on the west south-west side but note that the rocky spur seen towards the end should be avoided. The main advantage with taking this route is that the bush is thinner which means you don't get prickled by spinnefex grass too much. If you take the west route that we attempted at night be prepared to come out with about a thousand needles of spinnefex in your legs or wear thick jeans and gaiters. Whether you take the west route or the west south-west the spot where we cross the Dashwood creek in the 4WD is an important part of getting close to the mountains base. The exact GPS position of the Dashwood Creek crossing is S 23 20 34.5 E 132 18 09.5
The west south-west route was recommended to me by Shelagh at Glen Helen Resort; a great place to relax!!!
