UK weather: Warnings for snow across the UK as winter freeze drops temperatures below -10 degrees

Flood-hit Britain faces fresh winter misery with a bitter Arctic blast bringing up to two feet of snow and -10C (14F) temperatures within days.

Thermometers will plunge through this week with experts warning of a major winter freeze after the weekend.

Further heavy rain is forecast across the country tomorrow with showers turning to snow in the north by Friday.

Up to two feet of snow is expected to settle in the Scottish Highlands with flurries also expected further south next week.

The chilly forecast comes as parts of Britain brave further heavy rain and gales as the clean up form Storm Frank continues.
